The Bled area is surrounded by beautiful scenery and things to do from walks around the lovely Vintgar Gorge and various hills surrounding the lake to great mountain walking and mountain biking on the Pokljuka Plateau, kayaking, canyoning and rafting on the Sava River and its tributaries, as well of course as swimming and boating on Lake Bled itself. The Red House, Spodnje Gorje is in a great postion to access a extensive array of activities and leisure pursuits. Bordering Triglav National Park allows for some wonderful walking trails in close proximity to The Red House, Spodnje Gorje.
The Bled area is a great place to be based for exploring Slovenia's many ski areas - there is a small resort in the town itself but most skiers based in Bled visit the excellent resorts of Vogel, Krvavec & Kranjska Gora which are each half an hour's drive away (or there is a ski bus from Bled to Vogel / Krvavec). Bled is in a fantastic position for exploring Slovenia’s many sights with plenty of easy day trips possible including stunning Lake Bohinj just 25 minutes away, Slovenia’s pretty capital Ljubljana and the medieval town of Skofja Loka each just 45 minutes drive away.

The Red House, Spodnje Gorje offers a very comfortable standard of accommodation in lovely surrounds. The house can sleep up to 8 people. There are three generously proportioned bedrooms, each with river views comfortably sleeping six and additional space for 2 on a small double sofa bed in the living room. A safety gate for children has been installed at the top of the stairs. The kitchen, dining, living room form an open plan and allow seating for up to 12 in the living room and 10 to dine. In addition there are a number of books and maps of the local area so that you might plan the following days activities. Just a short walk from the house you can enjoy good quality restaurants offering locally caught trout and outdoor dining with great views of the area. Also available at the house is an outside seating and BBQ area.

The Red House
Lake Bled & Bohinj
The Red House is located on the edge of Spodnje Gorje village, just a few kilometres from world famous Lake Bled. With river and mountain views on the border of Triglav National Park, the house comfortably sleeps six people in three generously proportioned bedrooms; all with river views. The area is popular with outdoor types - hiking, fishing, swimming, skiing, caving, biking and white water rafting are all nearby. There are a number of great excursions locally, with Vintgar Gorge only 1km away.

The red house is a cottage near Lake Bled. The house itself is fine, the kitchen was superbly equipped and bedding and towels were clean and sufficiently available. The proximity to the Vintgar Gorge is really great and it is definitely worth a visit! The host was friendly and prepared everything superbly.

We will be back next year. The house is well equipped with everything you need. It is highly recommended for young people and families as it is located directly on the street, you can hear the traffic outside when the window is open. This did not bother us. We stayed in the bled and the waterfalls, everything was within walking distance. In this town you can go to eat and you have a small sweet supermarket. Thanks for this stay

We had a great time staying in the Red House during our visit to the Lake Bled area. We had a party of seven adults and two kids and there was plenty of room with one person staying in the living room (though the sleeper couch is arguably on the short side so you might want to sleep elsewhere if you are tall). The living room is even separate from the kitchen/dining area and has a door, so it can function as a relatively private bedroom. It was a great house for someone with kids- there is a crib and lots of toys waiting for us there, and even a baby carrier backpack! We really appreciated this. The house is conveniently close to both Lake Bled and the National Park, with a market and a couple restaurant in town. We were provided with good directions for getting to the house and how to use appliances, etc. in the house. The host was very helpful and responsive. We would recommend the area in general and this house in particular!
A great holiday house only a short drive from the main attractions of Bled and the surrounding national park. Four nights here was not enough. The house has three good sized bedrooms with a king bed in one, queen bed in the second and two single beds in the third. The kitchen was large enough cook a decent meal. The house is located on a main road but it was quiet at night. We had two cars which easily fit on the property's driveway. A short walk from the house is the Vintgar Gorge which is €4 entry or free in the late evening, there were also two restaurants up the street and a local supermarket, all within 10 minute walk. A great house within a short drive of all the attractions, recommended if you are planning on staying a few night.

Parking place for up to 4 cars, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, big kitchen and living room with piano and wood-fired oven. Just the entry to the property is a bit dangerous to handle, as it is located in a curve.

Our stay in the Red House was excellent. I have already left our review on the guest book at the house and I am happy to write some comments here! The House was equipped with all the necessities. The box of toys and the Wi-Fi kept our 4 kids entertained all the time. The only thing that I would suggest is that you put a bigger fridge since the one at the house is quite limited. But over all our stay was one that we enjoyed and we would be very happy to rent it again if we shall visit Slovenia in the future.

With the car it is close to the lake of Bled and the lake of Bohinj (which we really liked). House is very very complete, large and comfortable. The beds are great. We had very nice weather and can imagine on a rainy day you can enjoy yourself easily with all the books and DVD's.

Our stay in the Red House was excellent. I have already left our review on the guest book at the house and I am happy to write some comments here! The House was equipped with all the necessities. The box of toys and the Wi-Fi kept our 4 kids entertained all the time. The only thing that I would suggest is that you put a bigger fridge since the one at the house is quite limited. But over all our stay was one that we enjoyed and we would be very happy to rent it again if we shall visit Slovenia in the future.

A very large house in a very nice location. The house is very close to vintgar (a beautiful gorge), walking distance. With the car it is close to the lake of Bled and the lake of Bohinj (which we really liked). House is very very complete, large and comfortable. The beds are great. We had very nice weather and can imagine on a rainy day you can enjoy yourself easily with all the books and DVD's.
The red house is a cottage near Lake Bled. The house itself is fine, the kitchen was superbly equipped and bedding and towels were clean and sufficiently available. The proximity to the Vintgar Gorge is really great and it is definitely worth a visit! The host was friendly and prepared everything superbly.

Dan's house is comfortable and big. It has a parking area and a lot of services inside the house. You can only reach it by car, and Vintgar gorge is on a walkable distance (Bled isn't however). Dan answers swiftly and precisely. Nice house

Great large house with comfy beds, could take up to 6 people. 2 bathrooms with heated floors. Well set up kitchen. In small friendly village just outside of Bled. We had a car and found it a nice place to stay. Bled area is picturesque. Vintgar Gorge, Pericnik waterfall and Triglav National park a must.
Nice house in a beautiful setting. The arrival was easy and efficient. A lot of information was provided. We had a great stay and would visit again.
Pleasant house close to Bled. The property is situated in a convenient location, just 10 minutes drive away from Bled and with easy access to the motorway. It is clean and the bedrooms are of a good size. It well stocked with games and books that can be used during the stay. Vintage Gorge is close by and a clear stream can be seen flowing across the road. It is situated in a small village with restaurants and a small grocery shop nearby.

Very nice interior of the house, wondrously equipped, very close to Vintgrar, good communication with the house owner. Due to intensive traffic close to the house it was difficult to walk with children in the vicinity or to go by bicycle to Bled. Good location, when having trips by car, just parking is not trivial:-)
Wonderful time we will Come again! We have had a great time in the red house. The surroundings are beautiful and there is a lot to see. The neighbours are very nice and speak a little bit german. We will be back next year. The house is well equipped with everything you need. It is highly recommended for young people and families as it is located directly on the street, you can hear the traffic outside when the window is open. This did not bother us. We stayed in the bled and the waterfalls, everything was within walking distance. In this town you can go to eat and you have a small sweet supermarket. Thanks for this stay

Die Größe des Hauses entspricht den Bildern, ebenso die Einrichtung.Die Ein, Ausfahrt ist etwas unübersichtlich. Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm, auch das Wetter hat mitgespielt, so dass wir alle Aktivitäten, wie Stadt, Mountenbiken, Wandern, Schwimmen, Canyoning etc. sehr einfach erreichen konnten.
We had a great time staying in the Red House during our visit to the Lake Bled area. We had a party of seven adults and two kids and there was plenty of room with one person staying in the living room (though the sleeper couch is arguably on the short side so you might want to sleep elsewhere if you are tall). The living room is even separate from the kitchen/dining area and has a door, so it can function as a relatively private bedroom. It was a great house for someone with kids- there is a crib and lots of toys waiting for us there, and even a baby carrier backpack! We really appreciated this. The house is conveniently close to both Lake Bled and the National Park, with a market and a couple restaurant in town. We were provided with good directions for getting to the house and how to use appliances, etc. in the house. The host was very helpful and responsive. We would recommend the area in general and this house in particular!
A great holiday house only a short drive from the main attractions of Bled and the surrounding national park. Four nights here was not enough. The house has three good sized bedrooms with a king bed in one, queen bed in the second and two single beds in the third. The kitchen was large enough cook a decent meal. The house is located on a main road but it was quiet at night. We had two cars which easily fit on the property's driveway. A short walk from the house is the Vintgar Gorge which is €4 entry or free in the late evening, there were also two restaurants up the street and a local supermarket, all within 10 minute walk. A great house within a short drive of all the attractions, recommended if you are planning on staying a few night.
Really nice quiet location and the house is lovely and spacious. Was not difficult to get to Bled (1 hr walk or a cheap taxi ride) and house was very close to Vintgar Gorge. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The "Red House" was an excellent choice for spending our autumn vacation. It is really good equipped for up to 8 persons. Parking place for up to 4 cars, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, big kitchen and living room with piano and wood-fired oven. Just the entry to the property is a bit dangerous to handle, as it is located in a curve.

We had a very enjoyable stay and the house was incredibly comfortable and well equipped. We especially appreciated the toys and baby equipment for our son.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house worked well for us with only one minor problem. Only one roll of toilet paper for four people. Otherwise it was quite a nice stay. Will contact you again on next trip to Slovenia.
