Located in the village of Podjelje at the foot of the Pokljuka Plateau at circa 1000m above sea level, Dandelion House is well situated to take advantage of the attractions of Bohinj Valley with Lake Bohinj in one direction (20 minutes drive to the Lake) the Pokljuka Plateau in the other (10 minutes drive). Located in a beautiful peaceful position with stunning open mountain views and a few other houses and farms dotted around in the vicinity, it is a wonderful peaceful location for relaxing in wonderful alpine surroundings or equally for more active pursuits of which there are a huge amount, including wonderful walking and biking from the doorstep of the property and exploring the Triglav National Park, which the house is located inside.
Lake Bohinj itself is a serene lake surrounded by towering peaks and pristine forests considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Slovenia. In summer the Lake offers the opportunity for kayaking, sailing and rowing, as well as fly-fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the lake shore. The mountains of Lake Bohinj are fantastic for walking and arguably the best place to start climbs up Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. They also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing.?
The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinj is one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 25 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. The nearest town is Bohinjska Bistrica (circa 20 minutes drive) which also offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. There are other restaurants and a small shop in Srednja Vas 10 minutes drive away. 25 minutes drive away from the house is world famous Lake Bled.

Dandelion House Bohinj offers very comfortable and high quality accommodation for groups of up to 8 with 4 bedrooms and 2 sleek bathrooms. Converted in 2016, the house retains the charm of the original building combined with modern comfort and attractive furnishings, features and fittings. On the ground floor is an entry area with staircase and doors through to the downstairs fantastic bathroom with freestanding bath and shower enclosure and separate toilet, kitchen and living room. The kitchen, which is semi open plan with the living and dining room offers ample space for cooking and is fully equipped with high quality appliances including dishwasher and door through to pantry / utility room / back door. The centre-piece of the living room is a lovely hand built ceramic wood burner between the comfortable seating area and dining corner with hand build bench seating. Upstairs is a nice landing with seating area and four bedrooms with exposed beams - 1 twin, 3 doubles with one further twin on the loft level accessed by staircase, second bathroom with walk-in rain shower and a separate toilet. Outside, the house offers a terrace area with outdoor seating and table tennis table, a garden area with slide for kids and a barn with table and benches for socialising and barstools for enjoying a drink whilst soaking in the panoramic views. Below this there is a small field which can also be used but it is relatively steep. In terms of facilities there is a flatscreen TV, wifi and a washing machine and dryer available for guest usage.
