Mostnica Cottage is in a peaceful and idyllic position overlooking the Mostnica River with walking trails direct form the house to Lake Bohinj and up the stunning Mostnica Gorge. There are no neighbours on one side as it is the last house on the street giving an extre sense of privacy especially in the garden to the rear of the house. On two sides of the house are lovely views of local mountains and forests and of course of the Mostnica River. The village of Stara Fuzina is located on the shore of Lake Bohinj (the house is 1.3km to the lake - 2 minutes by car or circa 10 minutes walk) and is one of the most attractive and popular villages in the Bohinj Valley and the start point for ascents of many of the most beautiful peaks in the Julian Alps including Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain. There are restaurants, bars and supermarket all a two minute walk from the house, and plenty more amenities within a 15 minute walk.
The main attraction of the area is of course Lake Bohinj, a serene lake surrounded by towering peaks and pristine forests considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Slovenia. In Summer the Lake offers the opportunity for kayaking, sailing and rowing, as well as fly-fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the lake shore. The mountains of Lake Bohinj are fantastic for walking and arguably the best place to start climbs up Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. They also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing.
The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinj is one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 5-10 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the Summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. A 5 min drive from the house is the town of Bohinjska Bistrica which offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. There is a wide range of other ski areas in Slovenia / Italy / Austria within day trip distance from the property. A ski bus runs during the ski season on days that are suitable for skiing and the ski centre is open.

Fully renovated and fitted out in 2017, Mostnica Cottage is an extremely comfortable and well equipped 4 bedroom riverside holiday home offering a great standard of accommodation in the lovely village of Stara Fuzina, Lake Bohinj. A parking area at the front of the house comfortably accommodates 3 cars. Stairs lead around the house up to a secluded lawned garden with covered table and benches with BBQ. The main entrance to the house is accessed from the garden.
The entrance opens to a wonderful bright open plan living room with large L shaped sofa, TV and glass sided woodburner. On the other side of the woodburner is a solid oak dining room with table for up to 12 doors onto the balcony and easy access to the kitchen which is very well equipped and offers dishwasher, microwave, oven, 4 ring stove, toaster, kettle and a solid oak worktop. There is also a breakfast bar with two high stools. On this level is also a bathroom with shower enclosure.
On the first floor are three bedrooms all with double beds, two at the front of the house each with access to the beautiful balcony and one at the rear of the house. There is an additional balcony at the rear of the house overlooking the garden and a bathroom on this level with shower enclosure. On the lower ground floor you will find an additional double bedroom, utility room with sink, washing machine and dryer, 3rd bathroom with shower and a lovely snug room with TV and two pull out day beds giving additional sleeping space for up to 4. From the snug there is also a external door leading to the front of the house. Wifi internet and international TV channels complete the picture for this fantastic Bohinj holiday cottage. The fit out of the house is excellent with solid oak floorboards and top quality beds among its many features.

Mostnica Cottage is a very special holiday rental in a wonderful riverside location in the charming sought after village of Stara Fuzina just over 1km walk from Lake Bohinj, 10 minutes drive to Vogel gondola and in walking distance to shops and restaurants. Comprehensively renovated in 2017 to an excellent standard of comfort this spacious, bright house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, one with woodburner, 3 balconies, private lawned garden with covered outside table and wonderful mountain and river views. There are fantastic walking trails from the doorstep including a trail to the Lake and another one up the Mostnica gorge. There is an abundance of other river, lake and mountain activities in the Bohinj area and spectacular unspoilt scenery comes as standard.

However, we rented a van to drive us around so it was not a problem for us. Overall we're happy staying at the house. It is highly recommended.

This beautiful house is located closed to Bohinj Lake. The place was nice and comfortable. We did not meet the host but found all information written in booklet. The village's main road is under construction until the end of June 2020 and we couldn't find the house very well but once you are there the surrounding nature is gorgeous. I stayed at the house for 3 nights with my friends. We really enjoyed staying there and make bbq in the garden! The lake and the gorge are near the house, so you can reach them by foot. We didnt meet ous host, but he was available by phone. I would recommend this accomodation to other visitors!

Awesome place located in a very serene and lovely town of Stara Fuzina. You can actually see and hear the stream flowing from the house which is very soothing. The washing machine and dryer is really an added bonus for us travelling with kids. Highly recommended to those going to Lake Bohinj!
The cottage was even better than in the pictures o- bigger and yet cozier. It is very close to many wonderful hikes and walking distance to local shops. We also drove for day trips to Ljubljana, Trieste and some of the local caves. The owners were very responsive and check-in was super easy. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a quiet vacation immersed in nature!

The location of this house is second to none. A short walk to the most beautiful lake i have ever been to, surrounded by mountains and amazing scenery. Last year me and my friends all went to Lake Bled and thought that was amazing but this lake is even better. It wasn't very touristy and was much more quiet than Lake Bled, which was busy around the whole perimeter. The actual house was incredible. There were 12 of us staying in the house very easily. It never felt cramped even when we were all sat around the dinner table. Contact with host was easy and Dan responded very quickly every time. I couldn't recommend this house more and although it is slightly harder to get to it is definitely worth coming over to Lake Bohinj. This was such an amazing experience for me and all my friends but would also be a great place for a family holiday or just any holiday.

Great place to stay when visiting the Triglav area.
We loved our stay in Stara Fuzina with our extended family. The house was split across three levels which allowed plenty of room for everyone. The house is a short walk to the supermarket and cafe for a morning coffee and a 10 minute walk to Lake Bohinj, which was spectacular. There are also many other walking/cycling/running options around. Our children loved seeing the local cows meander through the streets and also enjoyed the small playground near the supermarket. This town is tiny, yet close enough to some restaurants and the faster pace of Bled. If you’d like a true escape to unwind in comfort then this a fantastic place to go!

Awesome place located in a very serene and lovely town of Stara Fuzina. You can actually see and hear the stream flowing from the house which is very soothing. The washing machine and dryer is really an added bonus for us travelling with kids. Highly recommended to those going to Lake Bohinj!
The cottage was even better than in the pictures o- bigger and yet cozier. It is very close to many wonderful hikes and walking distance to local shops. We also drove for day trips to Ljubljana, Trieste and some of the local caves. The owners were very responsive and check-in was super easy. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a quiet vacation immersed in nature!

The location of this house is second to none. A short walk to the most beautiful lake i have ever been to, surrounded by mountains and amazing scenery. Last year me and my friends all went to Lake Bled and thought that was amazing but this lake is even better. It wasn't very touristy and was much more quiet than Lake Bled, which was busy around the whole perimeter. The actual house was incredible. There were 12 of us staying in the house very easily. It never felt cramped even when we were all sat around the dinner table. Contact with host was easy and Dan responded very quickly every time. I couldn't recommend this house more and although it is slightly harder to get to it is definitely worth coming over to Lake Bohinj. This was such an amazing experience for me and all my friends but would also be a great place for a family holiday or just any holiday.

The house is spacious clean and in a lovely setting in the village. Quiet, spotlessly clean and everything works. Walking distance to local shop and to the lake (Bohinj) and the whole area is picture postcard material. Only just over one hour drive from Ljubljana airport. Would thoroughly recommend this to about everyone.

Great place to stay when visiting the Triglav area.
We loved our stay in Stara Fuzina with our extended family. The house was split across three levels which allowed plenty of room for everyone. The house is a short walk to the supermarket and cafe for a morning coffee and a 10 minute walk to Lake Bohinj, which was spectacular. There are also many other walking/cycling/running options around. Our children loved seeing the local cows meander through the streets and also enjoyed the small playground near the supermarket. This town is tiny, yet close enough to some restaurants and the faster pace of Bled. If you’d like a true escape to unwind in comfort then this a fantastic place to go!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mostnica Cottage! The place is located right next to the Mostnica, as pictured. It was a wonderful location to start our hiking trips. The place was clean and tidy when we arrived. We were a group of 8 people and it was quite spacious for us. All in all we liked it a lot!
Great house, close to the lake and some nice hiking routes. The three bathrooms, big kitchen and especially the garden (fireplace and dining table) are the best features of this nice place.
Dan is a fantastic host. Very quick and clear communication. This home was clean, spacious for a large group and gorgeous. We were so happy to be surrounded by the mountains and within walking distance to Lake Bonhinj and a few amazing trailheads.

The house is nice and exactly same as per description. During our stay, the street in front of the house was under construction so there was no public transport. However, we rented a van to drive us around so it was not a problem for us. Overall we're happy staying at the house. It is highly recommended.

Mostnica Cottage is in a great, beautiful and quiet location. There is a supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Lake Bohinji is 15 minutes walk and there is close access to various hiking paths. As a group of 6 women we found the cottage to be extremely comfortable, warm, roomy and well equipped.

This cottage is absolutely fantastic. Cannot rate it highly enough. We stayed as 2 families and it was perfect. Lovely rooms and bathrooms and a great kitchen. Location is excellent too - 20 min walk to the stunning lake, near to lovely restaurants and a very useful mercator shop 300m away. Highly highly recommend.

We booked the house with two families. One of 5 and one of 3. One family downstairs (3) and one upstairs. IN between living room/fully equiped kitchen. Perfect, together in combination with privacy. Everything up to date, rennovated, LAUNDRY MACHINE, DISHWASHER, etc. location good. garden and bbc oke. little shop in the village for all groseries. price quality very good ! This beautiful house is located closed to Bohinj Lake. The place was nice and comfortable. We did not meet the host but found all information written in booklet. The village's main road is under construction until the end of June 2020 and we couldn't find the house very well but once you are there the surrounding nature is gorgeous. I would highly recommend this place.

I stayed at the house for 3 nights with my friends. We really enjoyed staying there and make bbq in the garden! The lake and the gorge are near the house, so you can reach them by foot. We didnt meet ous host, but he was available by phone. I would recommend this accomodation to other visitors!
