Mostnica Cottage is in a peaceful and idyllic position overlooking the Mostnica River with walking trails direct form the house to Lake Bohinj and up the stunning Mostnica Gorge. There are no neighbours on one side as it is the last house on the street giving an extre sense of privacy especially in the garden to the rear of the house. On two sides of the house are lovely views of local mountains and forests and of course of the Mostnica River. The village of Stara Fuzina is located on the shore of Lake Bohinj (the house is 1.3km to the lake - 2 minutes by car or circa 10 minutes walk) and is one of the most attractive and popular villages in the Bohinj Valley and the start point for ascents of many of the most beautiful peaks in the Julian Alps including Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain. There are restaurants, bars and supermarket all a two minute walk from the house, and plenty more amenities within a 15 minute walk.
The main attraction of the area is of course Lake Bohinj, a serene lake surrounded by towering peaks and pristine forests considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Slovenia. In Summer the Lake offers the opportunity for kayaking, sailing and rowing, as well as fly-fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the lake shore. The mountains of Lake Bohinj are fantastic for walking and arguably the best place to start climbs up Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. They also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing.
The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinj is one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 5-10 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the Summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. A 5 min drive from the house is the town of Bohinjska Bistrica which offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. A ski bus runs during the ski season on days that are suitable for skiing and the ski centre is open.

Fully renovated and fitted out in 2017, Mostnica Cottage is an extremely comfortable and well equipped 4 bedroom riverside holiday home offering a great standard of accommodation in the lovely village of Stara Fuzina, Lake Bohinj. A parking area at the front of the house comfortably accommodates 3 cars. Stairs lead around the house up to a secluded lawned garden with covered table and benches with BBQ. The main entrance to the house is accessed from the garden.
The entrance opens to a wonderful bright open plan living room with large L shaped sofa, TV and glass sided woodburner. On the other side of the woodburner is a solid oak dining room with table for up to 12 doors onto the balcony and easy access to the kitchen which is very well equipped and offers dishwasher, microwave, oven, 4 ring stove, toaster, kettle and a solid oak worktop. There is also a breakfast bar with two high stools. On this level is also a bathroom with shower enclosure.
On the first floor are three bedrooms all with double beds, two at the front of the house each with access to the beautiful balcony and one at the rear of the house. There is an additional balcony at the rear of the house overlooking the garden and a bathroom on this level with shower enclosure. On the lower ground floor you will find an additional double bedroom, utility room with sink, washing machine and dryer, 3rd bathroom with shower and a lovely snug room with TV and two pull out day beds giving additional sleeping space for up to 4. From the snug there is also a external door leading to the front of the house. Wifi internet and international TV channels complete the picture for this fantastic Bohinj holiday cottage. The fit out of the house is excellent with solid oak floorboards and top quality beds among its many features.
