Offering Slovenian related services since 2002

Think Slovenia began in 2002, based in London and specialising in assisting UK companies to do business in Slovenia as well as offering various Slovene language services. Since 2006 we have been based in Ljubljana operating as a fully licensed and insured real estate agency, offering a range of real estate related services to non-Slovenian property owners and to holiday makers from all around the world.  

Think Slovenia was set up by Dan Bendall & Pia Tuma Bendall a Slovene / English couple with a love for Slovenia who spotted a need for a company to help property investors, tourists and businesses get the most out of Slovenia.

Helping us to run Think Slovenia we have a multitude of tried and tested partners around the country from architects to handymen, cleaners to insurance brokers and are assisted in our central Ljubljana office by the indispensable  Anamarija Marcina.

At Think Slovenia we have always been more interested in offering high levels of service to clients than just acting as an advertising portal and this remains the way that we run the company today. Many real estate agencies claim to offer property search or help with renovations, letting and management – the difference with Think Slovenia is that this isn’t just a casual claim but involves us being as actively involved in these areas as our clients need us to be, calling on significant experience and contacts in each area to deliver a quality hands-on service. As you may expect at Think Slovenia we are serious Slovenia-philes and continually proud of and amazed by the beauty of Slovenia and by the pace of positive change in the country. Through experience of over a decade we are also very conscious of the subtle differences in communication and ways of working between Slovenia and other nationalities, which means that it is not always straightforward for non-Slovenians to operate effectively in Slovenia - whether its renovating a house, searching for your dream property or arranging your self catering holiday in this beautiful corner of Europe. This is the gap we aim to bridge with most of our services.

Dan Bendall

Prior to starting Think Slovenia, Dan, who is British, had 10 years experience working in the marketing industry and before that graduated in languages. At Think Slovenia Dan is responsible for sales, marketing & client services. After many years of battling with the language Dan speaks Slovenian fluently and has experience of living and working in the Uk, Slovenia and Italy. When not Thinking Slovenia Dan can often be found walking up Slovenia's mountains and skiing down them.

Pia Tuma Bendall

Pia is a Slovenian who has lived and worked in the UK and Slovenia. Pia is a licensed real estate broker with experience of running 150 property sales in Slovenia and with overall responsibility at Think Slovenia for property sales and property management. When living in London Pia ran the only Slovenian language school at the time in the UK, teaching over 100 kids and adults one of the most challenging languages in the world!  She has an additional job in the afternoon entertaining and running after her twins. If there is any spare time left she loves spending time in the mountains skiing & hiking.

Žiga Huber

Usually, Žiga will take care of first contact with guests, and offer them support through whole reservation process, using his skills gained through many years of work in tourism. Booking channels managment and help to property owners is also part of his daily tasks. Outside office, Žiga is usually busy with sport, or exploring new places in Slovenia and abroad. 

Valerii Voropanov

Valerii is responsible for managing property-related inquiries from both sellers and buyers. He ensures our website is up-to-date by adding new listings and regularly updating content. Regular updates to our website and social media, including new listings, keep our online presence fresh and engaging. Communication with partner agencies and assistance with office tasks are also part of Valerii's diverse role. Beyond the office, Valerii is dedicated to his studies and loves exploring beautiful places.
