Located on a quiet lane of holiday chalets Chalet Savica has a lovely position on the edge of a beautiful pine forest which borders the garden. Over the top of the trees are views of some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. The village of Polje offers two good restaurant options and is just a few minutes drive or a short walk (2.5km) via a scenic forest path to the majestic Lake Bohinj, a serene lake surrounded by towering peaks and pristine forests considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Slovenia. In Summer the Lake offers the opportunity for kayaking, sailing and rowing, as well as fly-fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the lake shore. The mountains of Lake Bohinj are fantastic for walking and arguably the best place to start climbs up Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. They also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing. The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinjis one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 5-10 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the Summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. A 5 min drive from the house is the town of Bohinjska Bistrica which offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. A ski bus runs during the ski season on days that are suitable for skiing and the ski centre is open.

Fully renovated and fitted out in 2019, Chalet Savica makes a very comfortable, well appointed 3 level home for you to enjoy your holiday in Lake Bohinj. You enter into the middle level where a lovely open plan kitchen and dining room greet you. The kitchen is very well equipped and offers dishwasher, microwave, oven, 4 ring stove. There is a wood burner to keep you warm in Winter months. Also on this floor is a separate toilet. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single bedroom with additonal pull out bed, each room with balcony access. There is also a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet on this floor. On the basement level there is a large living room with double sofa bed, flatscreen TV, big bathroom with bath and access out onto a lovely wooden terrace overlooking the garden and views and perfect for alfresco dining in Summer months. A front garden with parking area for 2-3 cars completes the layout of this meticulously thought out holiday villa. The house offers free wifi connection suitable for browsing and emailing but not for large media downloads.

Absolutely amazing chill out place for a week of utter relaxation. It felt like a home from home with ample space, comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. Very peaceful location but handy for shops, local activities and pretty walks from the house. Great pizzeria just down the road, and the lake for swimming, paddleboarding and boating was very close - what more could you want? The outdoor dining space and barbeque were perfect and many happy evenings were spent out on the decking. Highly recommend and would be happy to come back!

As two couples- one from India and one from Amsterdam we met at your beautiful Chalet and enjoyed our stay. Everything was comfortable and well done. The plus is - you have 3 toilets, 2 showers, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, microwave, oven, big TV, internet, hidden fans (3 or 4), iron, ++++ 400 meters away is a great Pizzeria with lovely selection of beers, pizza and pasta. A little down the road on the right (100 metres away) is another Pizzeria which is much bigger and has equally lovely choices for drinks and food. 2 to 3 kms on the left is the bohinj lake area which has a beautiful lake and a few restaurants/cafes and a mercator supermarket and a post office, ATM, etc. Dont miss the vogel cabel car ride upto the top which is another 2 kms from bohinj lake which has easy parking. On top you have 2 nice restaurants and a beautiful view of bohinj lake. Infact it looks better than Lake Bled from the top. All in all a great location, chalet and nice to chill and relax. Car is necessary though ! Many thanks ! We will come back again to Slovenia

The departmental store and restaurant was very close. The kitchen is very well equipped and we managed to cook quite a few times. There is a barbecue as well. Highly recommend, we will surely visit again.
