Located on a quiet lane of holiday chalets Chalet Savica has a lovely position on the edge of a beautiful pine forest which borders the garden. Over the top of the trees are views of some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. The village of Polje offers two good restaurant options and is just a few minutes drive or a short walk (2.5km) via a scenic forest path to the majestic Lake Bohinj, a serene lake surrounded by towering peaks and pristine forests considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Slovenia. In Summer the Lake offers the opportunity for kayaking, sailing and rowing, as well as fly-fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the lake shore. The mountains of Lake Bohinj are fantastic for walking and arguably the best place to start climbs up Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. They also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing. The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinjis one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 5-10 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the Summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. A 5 min drive from the house is the town of Bohinjska Bistrica which offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. A ski bus runs during the ski season on days that are suitable for skiing and the ski centre is open.

Fully renovated and fitted out in 2019, Chalet Savica makes a very comfortable, well appointed 3 level home for you to enjoy your holiday in Lake Bohinj. You enter into the middle level where a lovely open plan kitchen and dining room greet you. The kitchen is very well equipped and offers dishwasher, microwave, oven, 4 ring stove. There is a wood burner to keep you warm in Winter months. Also on this floor is a separate toilet. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single bedroom with additonal pull out bed, each room with balcony access. There is also a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet on this floor. On the basement level there is a large living room with double sofa bed, flatscreen TV, big bathroom with bath and access out onto a lovely wooden terrace overlooking the garden and views and perfect for alfresco dining in Summer months. A front garden with parking area for 2 cars completes the layout of this meticulously thought out holiday villa. Chalet Savica is a charming alpine chalet with fabulous deck and garden in an idyllic natural setting with forest and partial mountain views just 2.5 km from Lake Bohinj in the pretty village of Polje. The chalet offers excellent quality holiday rental accommodation for up to 6 in 3 bedrooms with numerous features including fireplace, multiple balconies and terraces, two living rooms, beautiful wood flooring, table tennis table and toilets / bathrooms on every level. The chalet is in same village as the lovely Villa Frida, Chalet Planina & Villa Belica giving an excellent option for groups of up to 26 when rented together.

First time in Slovenia and we enjoyed it very much!
We had a lot of rain with flooded areas in Stara Fužina and we watched the rising water of the Mostnica river very carefully. But especially during the rainy days we enjoyed our lovely and cozy “home" very much! A great house, everything is well equipped and useful. I like the wooden floor a lot!
Despite the weather we did also a lot of hikes, tours and sightseeing, eg. Ljubljana, Postojna cave, cable car to Vogel, Savica waterfall, and of course a hike to the Mostnica gorge, and on the northern side of the lake (which was stopped by the water of the waterfall almost at the end of the lake).
But we have a lot more things to do and places to explore in this wonderful part of the world, so we are pretty sure to come back!

This is a terrific chalet. Well appointed and located; clean and wonderfully designed. We had a total of four occupants and could easily had two or three more. We enjoyed the fireplace with the provided firewood (even in August, the evenings were chilly!) and spacious living areas, including a wonderful and peaceful back deck. The neighborhood was very quiet, with great views of the spectacular Julian range. The chalet was a convenient launching point for nearby Bohinj and lake, Bled, local running routes, and spectacular hiking. There are also great restaurants within very short drives, while the chalet was very well equipped for making meals at home as well. Check in was as easy as it comes, and communications with Think Slovenia were efficient. We would gladly return here.
Wonderful house and location close to lake Bohinj. The house is spacious and modern yet preserved the tzpical chalet style. Beautiful views. Internet is slower, but that is not why you come to the mountains :).
Apartment was amazing and just what we were looking for - a quiet, spacious, off-the-road home to spend a few days in! The yard and deck were wonderful for the kids to play outside and for us to have drinks and dinner. Just a few minutes drive to the lake and there's a great pizza place walking distance down the hill. Dan and the team were amazingly responsive to all of our questions! Highly recommend, and we'll be back!

Very nice house with a great terrace. Nice location, 5 min drive to the lake, not to far from Bled, but far enough to avoid masses of tourists. We had a very nice stay and enjoyed our hiking trips, which were all reachable in around 15 min from the house. The check in was very convenient!

Das Haus im kleinen Dörfchen Polje ist sowohl außen als auch innen wunderbar renoviert. Mit den schönen Balkonen ist es eindeutig das schönste Haus im Ort. Die einzelnen Zimmer sind zwar recht klein, aber zweckmäßig. Dafür ist der Wohnraum und die perfekt ausgestattete Küche umso geräumiger. Die Terrasse mit dem großen Schirm und der riesige, sehr gepflegte Garten sind perfekt zum entspannen und spielen. Es war alles da, was man sich wünscht - sogar eine Tischtennisplatte - und alles war praktisch neu. Das Haus kann man uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Unser Urlaub im Chalet war super. Sehr großzügig und man fand alles was man brauchte. Die kleinen Elektroheizung sind etwas dürftig in den Wintermonaten, aber durch den Kamin konnten wir es uns trotzdem gemütlich machen. Wir hatten einmal kurz Probleme mit dem Strom, aber da, wie auch bei allen anderen Anliegen, waren die Vermieter sofort zur Stelle und immer zu erreichen. Die Kommunikation war großartig. Das Skigebiet war leider aus unerklärlichen Gründen nicht geöffnet, dafür ist die Gegend aber wunderschön zum Wandern und Ljubljana ist auch nicht allzuweit.

Absolutely amazing chill out place for a week of utter relaxation. It felt like a home from home with ample space, comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. Very peaceful location but handy for shops, local activities and pretty walks from the house. Great pizzeria just down the road, and the lake for swimming, paddleboarding and boating was very close - what more could you want? The outdoor dining space and barbeque were perfect and many happy evenings were spent out on the decking. Highly recommend and would be happy to come back!

Wonderful experience in a new holiday home!
Firstly many thanks for our wonderful experience in your holiday home. The property and location is fantastic, clean and fresh. As two couples- one from India and one from Amsterdam we met at your beautiful Chalet and enjoyed our stay. Everything was comfortable and well done. The plus is - you have 3 toilets, 2 showers, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, microwave, oven, big TV, internet, hidden fans (3 or 4), iron, ++++ 400 meters away is a great Pizzeria with lovely selection of beers, pizza and pasta. A little down the road on the right (100 metres away) is another Pizzeria which is much bigger and has equally lovely choices for drinks and food. 2 to 3 kms on the left is the bohinj lake area which has a beautiful lake and a few restaurants/cafes and a mercator supermarket and a post office, ATM, etc. Dont miss the vogel cabel car ride upto the top which is another 2 kms from bohinj lake which has easy parking. On top you have 2 nice restaurants and a beautiful view of bohinj lake. Infact it looks better than Lake Bled from the top. All in all a great location, chalet and nice to chill and relax. Car is necessary though ! Many thanks ! We will come back again to Slovenia

Very clean, neat, well renovated with all appliances. It was the perfect holiday for us with a beautiful view, quiet place yet very close to all amenities. The departmental store and restaurant was very close. The kitchen is very well equipped and we managed to cook quite a few times. There is a barbecue as well. Highly recommend, we will surely visit again.

Wonderful house and location close to lake Bohinj. The house is spacious and modern yet preserved the tzpical chalet style. Beautiful views. Internet is slower, but that is not why you come to the mountains :).
Apartment was amazing and just what we were looking for - a quiet, spacious, off-the-road home to spend a few days in! The yard and deck were wonderful for the kids to play outside and for us to have drinks and dinner. Just a few minutes drive to the lake and there's a great pizza place walking distance down the hill. Dan and the team were amazingly responsive to all of our questions! Highly recommend, and we'll be back!

Chalet Savica ist ein wunderschönes und sehr gut ausgestattet Ferienhaus. Mit Fahrrädern erleichtert ihr euch die Fahrtwege zum See. Neben dem See bietet euch der Nationalpark viele weitere Aktivitäten. Die Kommunikation mit Dan ist schnell und unkompliziert. Die Unterkunft kann ich empfehlen.

Very nice house with a great terrace. Nice location, 5 min drive to the lake, not to far from Bled, but far enough to avoid masses of tourists. We had a very nice stay and enjoyed our hiking trips, which were all reachable in around 15 min from the house. The check in was very convenient!

Das schönste Haus am Ort
Das Haus im kleinen Dörfchen Polje ist sowohl außen als auch innen wunderbar renoviert. Mit den schönen Balkonen ist es eindeutig das schönste Haus im Ort. Die einzelnen Zimmer sind zwar recht klein, aber zweckmäßig. Dafür ist der Wohnraum und die perfekt ausgestattete Küche umso geräumiger. Die Terrasse mit dem großen Schirm und der riesige, sehr gepflegte Garten sind perfekt zum entspannen und spielen. Es war alles da, was man sich wünscht - sogar eine Tischtennisplatte - und alles war praktisch neu. Das Haus kann man uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Unser Urlaub im Chalet war super. Sehr großzügig und man fand alles was man brauchte. Die kleinen Elektroheizung sind etwas dürftig in den Wintermonaten, aber durch den Kamin konnten wir es uns trotzdem gemütlich machen. Wir hatten einmal kurz Probleme mit dem Strom, aber da, wie auch bei allen anderen Anliegen, waren die Vermieter sofort zur Stelle und immer zu erreichen. Die Kommunikation war großartig. Das Skigebiet war leider aus unerklärlichen Gründen nicht geöffnet, dafür ist die Gegend aber wunderschön zum Wandern und Ljubljana ist auch nicht allzuweit.

Absolutely amazing chill out place for a week of utter relaxation. It felt like a home from home with ample space, comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. Very peaceful location but handy for shops, local activities and pretty walks from the house. Great pizzeria just down the road, and the lake for swimming, paddleboarding and boating was very close - what more could you want? The outdoor dining space and barbeque were perfect and many happy evenings were spent out on the decking. Highly recommend and would be happy to come back!

Wonderful experience in a new holiday home!
Firstly many thanks for our wonderful experience in your holiday home. The property and location is fantastic, clean and fresh. As two couples- one from India and one from Amsterdam we met at your beautiful Chalet and enjoyed our stay. Everything was comfortable and well done. The plus is - you have 3 toilets, 2 showers, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, microwave, oven, big TV, internet, hidden fans (3 or 4), iron, ++++ 400 meters away is a great Pizzeria with lovely selection of beers, pizza and pasta. A little down the road on the right (100 metres away) is another Pizzeria which is much bigger and has equally lovely choices for drinks and food. 2 to 3 kms on the left is the bohinj lake area which has a beautiful lake and a few restaurants/cafes and a mercator supermarket and a post office, ATM, etc. Dont miss the vogel cabel car ride upto the top which is another 2 kms from bohinj lake which has easy parking. On top you have 2 nice restaurants and a beautiful view of bohinj lake. Infact it looks better than Lake Bled from the top. All in all a great location, chalet and nice to chill and relax. Car is necessary though ! Many thanks ! We will come back again to Slovenia

The perfect holiday house for a big family.
Very clean, neat, well renovated with all appliances. It was the perfect holiday for us with a beautiful view, quiet place yet very close to all amenities. The departmental store and restaurant was very close. The kitchen is very well equipped and we managed to cook quite a few times. There is a barbecue as well. Highly recommend, we will surely visit again.
