INTRODUCTION

Castle View House is a lovely 3 bedroom house in an enviable position in the charming rural village of Spodnje Gorje 4 kms to Lake Bled and with stunning open views to Bled Castle in one direction and Stol mountain and the Southern Karavanke mountains in the other. The star attraction at the house is the enormous raised terrace overlooking the views - a simply fantastic place to while away the hours in the summer sunshine. Below the terrace is a small garden. Inside the house comprises a charming living room with terrace access, newly fitted bathroom & also the kitchen-diner on the ground floor. On the first floor is a spacious master bedroom with great views, second bedroom with single bed and fold out second bed and third single room. The house is perfect for a family of 4 or 5 who want peace tranquility in a holiday home with views to die for within striking distance of Lake Bled.

LOCATION

Castle View House is located in the quiet rural village of Spodnje Gorje just 3-4 km from Bled and a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach area of the Lake at Zaka. The village offers an excellent base within striking distance of Bled and its many attractions but offering a more peaceful, beautiful and less touristy location. The amazing Vintgar Gorge is just a couple of kilometers away and a little further is the fabulous Pokljuka plateau - paradise for walkers in Summer and cross country skiers in Winter.

 

The Bled area is surrounded by beautiful scenery and lots of other things to do including kayakingcanyoning and rafting on the Sava River and its tributaries, as well of course as swimming and boating on Lake Bled itself. The Bled area is also a great place to be based for exploring Slovenia's many ski areas - there is a small resort in the town itself but most skiers based in Bled visit the excellent resorts of VogelKrvavec & Kranjska Gora which are each half an hour's drive away (or there is a ski bus from Bled to Vogel / Krvavec).

Bled is also in a fantastic position for exploring Slovenia’s many sights with plenty of easy day trips possible including stunning Lake Bohinj just 25 minutes away, Slovenia’s pretty capital Ljubljana and the medieval town of Skofja Loka each just 45 minutes drive away.

There is a ski bus from Bled to Krvavec that runs only during the ski season, only on weekends, departing at 9am and returning at 4pm. There is also a ski bus that runs from Bled to Vogel, only during the ski season on days that are suitable for skiing and the ski centre is open. Departing Bled at 9am and returning from Vogel at 4pm. You will also find bus connections from Bled to a variety of destinations in Slovenia.

The nearest train station is 4km away at Lesce Bled.

Castle View House, Spodnje Gorje offers a very comfortable standard of accommodation in lovely surroundings. The house can sleep up to 5 people. There are three bedrooms, one spacious master double bedroom, one small double with single bed and additional pull out bed and a third single room.  Downstairs is a functional kitchen, lovely newly renovated bathroom and charming living room with access onto a fantastic spacious terrace and below that a small garden. Facilities including Wifi, Xbox, DVD player, board games and satellite TV complete what is a very enjoyable holiday house in close proximity to Lake Bled.
