Apartment Barrio Alto, Ljubljana is a charming old town apartment sleeping 2 in a beautiful historic building in one of the most sought after locations in the centre of Ljubljana. Gornji trg or "Upper Square" is overflowing with old town charm and home to some of the city's best restaurants and bars, but remains a very peaceful location and is the start point for walks up to the lovely green spaces and historic buildings on Castle hill. The apartment itself is located in a magnificent building dating back to 1763 (renovated 2005) and located on the first floor. Completely renovated in 2016 the apartment comprises high quality shower room, open plan living room with sofabed / dining area with fully equipped kitchen and a separated sleeping area with double bed. With 3.5m high vaulted ceilings the apartment has an abundance of charm in a fantastic old town location in easy walking distance to all the main attractions of the historic centre of Ljubljana. Internet, TV, dishwasher, oven, clothes washing machine and dryer on request are among the many facilities.

A stay at Barrio Alto is cozy but great! Despite the small size, it has everything you need. If you want to cook your own meals, you have an excellent opportunity to do so. Barrio Alto is located in the old town, where life is vibrant and there are countless exciting and interesting cafés and restaurants – though this in no way interferes with your stay. The distances to the various attractions and places of interest are short and can easily be covered on foot. Think Slovenia is easy and quick to communicate with and keen to make your stay as good as possible. We can recommend the place.

We enjoyed the nice tiny appartement to explore Ljubljana's old town as well as the rest of the country. A quiet place in the heart of the town where the main pedestrian area starts with many restaurants, bars and shops. We enjoyed the vivid city life during our relaxed stay and started exploring the countryside with it's green nature and places of world heritage. A wonderful place for a holiday we strongly recommend.

This apartment is perfectly located in the Old Town on a charming street. It is also rather compact: the front door opens literally into the bedroom, which may be a challenge in wintertime, with coats and boots. But high arched ceilings (high enough for the suitcase to live on top of the wardrobe) and the pleasure of finding yourself in beautiful surroundings more than compensate, even though my belief is that this flat is far better suited for one person than for two people living in it at the same time. The neighborhood and its surroundings are pleasantly quiet at night. The managers respond to any issues that may arise and solve them immediately (good communication). Right around the corner a winding path takes you to the castle (I heartily recommend the Museum of Puppetry, which is part of the Castle Museum). Quality clothes stores, antique stores, and quirky little restaurants are within walking distance, and every day there will be something new to discover. A gem of a flat in a gem of a city

Думаю, что неудобства может доставить то, что вытяжка из душевой соединена с гостиной, поэтому вся влага из ванной комнаты оказывается в помещении. В дождливое время года, наверное, может быть некомфортно.
Lovely apartment in the heart of Ljubljana
Comfortable apartments with a well-equipped kitchen, which has all the necessary equipment and utensils. Great location, atmospheric street with lots of cafes. Nearby is a temple, near it is a fountain with water. From the apartments it is convenient to reach Grad on foot. We felt very comfortable. Thanks to the owner for the possibility of late check-in. The registration procedure itself is completely online, which is very convenient. I would also like to note the availability of washing things - there is a laundry on the floor. Our recommendations!
I think that inconvenience can be caused by the fact that the hood from the shower is connected to the living room, so all the moisture from the bathroom is in the room. In the rainy season, it can probably be uncomfortable.

We liked the apartement a lot! Because the options to eat out in Ljubljana are great, we haven't prepared a single meal but the kitchen was well equipped. It's very quiet although the location is very central. Communication with Pia was very good. We can definitely recommend this place and would absolutely come back once. We would love to learn what the history of this building was. A convent/monastery?

We stayed in this apartment for a month. We loved our stay in Ljubljana. It’s such a lovely city. The apartment is in a good location a little off the tourist route. Far enough to be quiet and authentic Ljubljana but close enough to be at the central market or Open Kitchen in a ten minute walk. The hosts were thoughtful and kind and quickly responded to any communications or questions. They even sent a list of restaurant recommendations. The apartment is small and quaint and had pretty much everything we needed to cook meals at home etc. The WiFi is a little weak as the router is probably in the owner’s apartment next door. We couldn’t get the TV to work but we didn’t really want to watch TV anyway. We preferred to get out and enjoy Ljubljana!

Gorgeous apartment in a great location. The flat is newly renovated, very tastefully done, and is right in the centre but on a quiet street. You just walk out and within minutes you are in the heart of the town. There is a lovely walk up to the castle behind the flat too. We visited in December, and though it was cold outside, the apartment was really cosy and warm. It’s in a charming building, characteristic of the old town. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good, powerful shower. The bed is soft and comfortable. We have stayed in Ljubljana a few times but this was by far the nicest apartment we’ve stayed in. The restaurant over the road is wonderful too. Hosts were lovely! We will definitely visit again.

We visited in December, and though it was cold outside, the apartment was really cosy and warm. It’s in a charming building, characteristic of the old town. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good, powerful shower. The bed is soft and comfortable. We have stayed in Ljubljana a few times but this was by far the nicest apartment we’ve stayed in. The restaurant over the road is wonderful too. Hosts were lovely! We will definitely visit again.
A stay at Barrio Alto is cozy but great! Despite the small size, it has everything you need. If you want to cook your own meals, you have an excellent opportunity to do so. Barrio Alto is located in the old town, where life is vibrant and there are countless exciting and interesting cafés and restaurants – though this in no way interferes with your stay. The distances to the various attractions and places of interest are short and can easily be covered on foot. Think Slovenia is easy and quick to communicate with and keen to make your stay as good as possible. We can recommend the place.

A quiet place in the heart of the town where the main pedestrian area starts with many restaurants, bars and shops. We enjoyed the vivid city life during our relaxed stay and started exploring the countryside with it's green nature and places of world heritage. This apartment is perfectly located in the Old Town on a charming street. It is also rather compact: the front door opens literally into the bedroom, which may be a challenge in wintertime, with coats and boots. But high arched ceilings (high enough for the suitcase to live on top of the wardrobe) and the pleasure of finding yourself in beautiful surroundings more than compensate, even though my belief is that this flat is far better suited for one person than for two people living in it at the same time. The neighborhood and its surroundings are pleasantly quiet at night. The managers respond to any issues that may arise and solve them immediately (good communication). Right around the corner a winding path takes you to the castle (I heartily recommend the Museum of Puppetry, which is part of the Castle Museum). Quality clothes stores, antique stores, and quirky little restaurants are within walking distance, and every day there will be something new to discover. A gem of a flat in a gem of a city

Comfortable apartments with a well-equipped kitchen, which has all the necessary equipment and utensils. Great location, atmospheric street with lots of cafes. Nearby is a temple, near it is a fountain with water. From the apartments it is convenient to reach Grad on foot. We felt very comfortable. Thanks to the owner for the possibility of late check-in. The registration procedure itself is completely online, which is very convenient. I would also like to note the availability of washing things - there is a laundry on the floor. Our recommendations!
I think that inconvenience can be caused by the fact that the hood from the shower is connected to the living room, so all the moisture from the bathroom is in the room. In the rainy season, it can probably be uncomfortable.

It's very quiet although the location is very central. Communication with Pia was very good. We can definitely recommend this place and would absolutely come back once. We stayed in this apartment for a month. We loved our stay in Ljubljana. It’s such a lovely city. The apartment is in a good location a little off the tourist route. Far enough to be quiet and authentic Ljubljana but close enough to be at the central market or Open Kitchen in a ten minute walk. The hosts were thoughtful and kind and quickly responded to any communications or questions. They even sent a list of restaurant recommendations. The apartment is small and quaint and had pretty much everything we needed to cook meals at home etc. The WiFi is a little weak as the router is probably in the owner’s apartment next door. We couldn’t get the TV to work but we didn’t really want to watch TV anyway. We preferred to get out and enjoy Ljubljana!
