Villa Planina Kranjska Gora Apartments:

INTRODUCTION

Villa Planina sets new standards in Kranjska Gora apartments, offering spacious and luxurious self catering accommodation for groups of 2-20 in four apartments in an alpine chalet with wonderful uninterrupted views of the Julian Alps. Villa Planina is located in a quiet spot on the edge of the charming authentic alpine village of Ratece just a few kilometres out of Slovenia’s most famous mountain resort - Kranjska Gora - and within walking distance of several excellent local restaurants and amenities with fantastic walking and mountain biking right from the doorstep of the villa and a wide range of Winter sports in very easy reach, including skiing at Kranjska Gora (5 minutes drive) and Tarvisio Monte Lussari (15 minutes drive). The four apartments each offer extremely spacious, comfortable and well equipped accommodation, each with large balconies with fantastic views and a communal games room and kid's soft play room in the basement.

LOCATION

Villa Planina, Kranjska Gora Apartments are situated in a beautiful, peaceful position on the edge of the village of Ratece. Ratece is a charming Slovenian mountain village five minutes drive from Kranjska Gora, offering an authentic alpine experience, several excellent traditional restaurants, renowned in the region amongst local Slovenians, Italians & Austrians and various local amenities such as post office, supermarket and bars. The Villa itself offers uninterrupted views of some of the Julian Alps’ most majestic peaks and offers a huge amount of stunning walking and mountain biking from the doorstep – for example up the wonderful Tamar Valley into the Triglav National Park or to the triple border, the point where Italy, Austria & Slovenia meet. In Winter there is skiing just 5 minutes drive or bus away at Kranjska Gora, a superb resort for families and beginner – intermediate level skiers. The excellent resort of Tarvisio Monte Lussari in Italy is just 15 minutes drive from the house and the resorts of Bovec -Sella Nevea (Italy – Slovenia), Arnoldstein Deilandereck & Gerlitzen (Austria) are cca 30 minutes drive, with a number of other resorts reachable as an easy day trip within an hour. Skiing 3 resorts in 3 countries in a weekend is an unforgettable experience that is easily possible from Villa Planina. There is extensive cross country skiing in walking distance of the house and the house is one of the closest places to stay to the annual World Cup Ski Jumping at Ratece Planica - the world’s highest and most famous ski jumping venue. Kranjska Gora itself is the most famous mountain resort in Slovenia, hosting annual world cup skiing and ski-jumping events. But with stunning mountain scenery, great access to the Triglav National park and a host of outdoor pursuits (e.g. walking, mountain biking, horse riding) it remains very popular all year round. The town itself is a pretty alpine affair, very family friendly, with lots of lively restaurants, bars and a couple of swimming pools / spas.

With 2 x 1 bedroom apartments and 2 extremely spacious 2 bedroom apartments, each with double sofabeds in the living room, the villa offers outstanding self catering accommodation for groups of 2-20 people. Each apartment offers large balcony / terrace with beautiful mountain views, dishwasher, washing machine, flatscreen TV, DVD, cable TV, internet, underfloor heating. Communal garden & games room with pool table and ping pong table. Renting the whole house is a wonderful option for larger groups of families and friends.
