The Villa itself offers uninterrupted views of some of the Julian Alps’ most majestic peaks and offers a huge amount of stunning walking and mountain biking from the doorstep – for example up the wonderful Tamar Valley into the Triglav National Park or to the Triple Border, the point where Italy, Austria & Slovenia meet. Beautiful Belopeški Lakes (Laghi di Fusine) are on the Italian side of the border, just a short drive away.
In winter there is skiing just 5 minutes drive or bus away at Kranjska Gora Ski Resort, a superb resort for families and beginner – intermediate level skiers. The excellent resort of Tarvisio Monte Lussari in Italy is just 15 minutes drive from the house and the resorts of Bovec -Sella Nevea (Italy – Slovenia), Arnoldstein Deilandereck & Gerlitzen (Austria) are cca 30 minutes drive, with a number of other resorts reachable as an easy day trip within an hour. Skiing at 3 resorts in 3 countries in a weekend is an unforgettable experience that is easily possible from Villa Planina. There is extensive cross country skiing in walking distance of the house and the house is one of the closest places to stay to the annual World Cup Ski Jumping at Ratece Planica - the world’s highest and most famous ski jumping venue.
Kranjska Gora itself is the most famous mountain resort in Slovenia, hosting annual world cup skiing and ski-jumping events. But with stunning mountain scenery, great access to the Triglav National Park and a host of outdoor pursuits (e.g. walking, mountain biking, horse riding) it remains very popular all year round. Lake Jasna, a short walk out of the centre of Kranjska Gora offers a stunning place to swim and sunbathe in beautiful mountain scenery. The town itself is a pretty alpine affair, very family friendly, with lots of lively restaurants, bars and a couple of swimming pools / spas. There is a regular daily bus service between Ratece and Kranjska Gora, great for getting to the ski slopes.

The four apartments each offer extremely spacious, comfortable and well equipped accommodation, each with large balcony with fantastic views and a communal games room in the basement.

ponovno smo bili zelo zadovoljni z bivanjem v Villi Planini, imeli smo se super in takoj smo se strinjali, da spet ponovimo drugo leto. Prav tako so bili navdušeni naši prijatelji, ki so nas obiskali in sicer v tej meri, da bi se nam radi prihodnje leto kar pridružili. V tem primeru bomo potrebovali še eno enoto za štiričlansko družino (Loft Left ali Loft Right).

Very nice and quiet location - Location is excellent for cyclists, close to cycling way. The village Rateče is very nice and quite. The apartment is ideal for a family vacation because there is all the space and all the amenities for 6 people. Also ideal for long holidays - very convenient and quiet and in 5 minutes you reach the ski slopes. For sure I will recommend it to friends and family.

nama je u Villi Planina bilo apsolutno predivno i zaista to kazem od srca. Apartman je predivan, ima sve sto jednoj porodici treba od masine za ves, usisivaca, daske za peglanje do masine za sudje. Takodje posudje koje se nalazi u apartmanu je bas ono koje je potrebno za kuhanje. Tokom svog boravka nisam imala utisak da mi ista nedostaje Takodje kreveti i jastuci su nevjerovatno udobni. Ako tome jos dodam stoni tenis i bilijar koji smo igrali gotovo svaki dan - moj utisak je apsolutno fenomenalan! Ono sto me je posebno odusevilo jeste DVD sa mojom omiljenom serijom - Hercula Poirota. To kada sam vidjela - moje odusvljenje je bilo potpuno. :)
Ono sto eventualno mogu sugerisati i to se odnosi na slucaj porodica sa djecom jeste da se ubaci neki TV kanal sa crtanim filmovima. Mi smo sve to gledali na internetu ali znam da je to dosta zgodno za djecu.
Sto se tice same lokacije kuce, ona je zaista izvanredna, jer se nalazi preko puta staza za nordijsko skijanje a nedaleko su i male staze na Planici za alpsko smucanje za djecu kao i za odrasle pocetnike (mogu posluziti). Dobra stvar ovoga jeste sto ski karte iz Kranjske Gore se mogu koristiti i na Planici i u Podkorenu. Znaci super pozicija za porodice ciji clanovi imaju razlicita interesovanja: npr. djeca se skijaju na Planici, jedan roditelj je takodje na Planici gdje moze da koristi stazu za nordijsko trcanje dok mu dijete skija a drugi roditelj seta do Tamara i slicno.
Iskreno se nadam da smo i mi bili dobri gosti i da ste i vi zadovoljni sa nama kao gostima kao sto smo mi sa vama kao domacinima.
Ja planiram da dodjem ponovo i to najvjerovatnije do kraja marta pa cu se potruditi da sto prije rezervisem slobodne dane na poslu kako bi mogla rezervisati termin kod vas.

Rada bi se vam zahvalila za prijetno bivanje v mesecu januarju 2013 v vaši Villa Planini. Bili smo zelo zadovoljni z namestitvijo. Lokacija hiške nam je bila zaradi teka na smučeh odlična, pa tudi igralnice v kleti so bile super za naše otroke, kakor tudi za nas odrasle, tako, da se bomo sigurno še kdaj obrnili na vas. Mogoče bi vam dala samo eno sugestijo, da bi v predsobi APP namestili na steno še kakšen obešalnik, da se lažje razobesi športna oblačila, da se posušijo, sploh v primeru slabega vremena.
Moram priznat da smo bili z namestitvijo zelo zadovoljni, pripomba bi bila mogoče samo da da je bila spalnica mogoče za malenkost prehladna glede na to da sta tam spale hčere. Drugače pa vse super o samem apartmaju, tako da se bomo še vrnili k vam z veseljem glede na to da imate ugodne cene. Sem pa že tudi sam dal kar nekaj priporočil za vas in ja seveda želim v prihodnje dobivati od vas obvestila o ugodnostih.
V Ratečah oz. Kr. Gori smo preživeli čudovite štiri dni. Bila je prava zimska idila in naporen, a prekrasen konec tedna. O apartmaju ne bi izgubljal besed. Ohranjen, komforten, moderen, s čudovito igralnico,... Le prvi dan in del drugega dne nam je bilo malo hladno, a s posredovanjem g. Markota smo zadevo enostavno rešili. Pogovarjali smo se že, da se bomo v Villo Planino še vrnili.
Najprej bi pohvalil vašo dobro opremljeno apartmajsko hišo, ki nam je bila zelo všeč. Pohvalil bi tudi vašega soseda, ki nam je takoj priskočil na pomoč, ko smo imeli težavo s televizijo. Zadovoljni smo bili tudi z ogrevanjem, čeprav smo bili najprej malo skeptični, ker ni bilo radiatorjev. Upamo, da bomo še kdaj letovali v vaših apartmajih pod ugodnimi pogoji, mogoče tudi v manjših apartmajih.

It should be very good if somebody could put signs on the containers for rubbish, so it is clear what you must put in what rubbish bin, it is different from home and we should like to do it in the right way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Slovenia and the skiing was fantastic in Kranjska Gora. Our accommodation at Villa Planina was also excelletn and the unit was very well equipped. There were a few lights not working but other than that everything was great and you were there everytime we needed you. I'm sure we'll be back in the future.
We all had a wonderful time in Ratece over Christmas. The accomodation was wonderful and I will definitely recommend it to others.
We were very happy with the flat, excellent furniture and equipment, underfloor heating was very appreciated by my toddler and there was plenty of space for everyone to feel at ease. Everything was spick & span, the view was great and it was pretty quiet in winter, though the house is quite close to the main road so I dont know how it would be in summertime with windows open; anyway, traffic is very limited, I would say. The valley is really nice and ideal for outdoor people.
The ground floor apartment of Villa Planina is a very nice, well equipped apartment where you can stay easily with 4 adults...Indeed, the living room is very nice, the kitchen is well equipped except for the very small detail of making coffee (Turkish way). Also the bathroom and the bedrooms were excellent. The property was very clean, brand-new, and very practical. The view around is indeed superb. In the village are different restaurants, were you can eat very well and not expensive at all. Slovenia is a wonderful nice country, very divers, and the apartment was a success. The service of “Think Slovenia” is excellent. Every detail can be arranged by mail. Responses are fast an accurate. The holiday in Slovenia was a success, and my wife and I have decided already; when possible we will once come back.
We were travelling in Slovenia without our own car and we were surprised, how easy and cheap it was to get everywhere by bus. The apartment we had chosen was even better than we expected. It was well-located and clean, everything worked without problems. And the view! From every window we could watch the mountains and wonder, if this really is true or not. Even thoug the village was small, we could buy food or eat in a restaurant there. For party animals we would probably recommend another destination, at least in summer. But for an active (sport) holiday the village with its surroundings is a perfect choice. No doubt, we´ll surely recommend this place for everyone looking for an adventure in an unbelievable nature and close to the local people. For one week we didn´t feel like "normal" tourists, but like part of the life this nice village.
We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was mixed - wet at the beginning and end and fine in the middle! Ratece is a lovely village - unspoilt - and we also liked Kranska Gora. We were so impressed with all the gardens of flowers and vegetables, and Slovenia was so clean - no litter anywhere! The apartment was very clean and comfortable. and mainly well equipped. The beds were very comfortable so we slept well after our energetic days. The housekeepers were very pleasant and helpful.
We only stayed for one night and arrived late but the flat was very warm, clean and comfortable. The area looked great. I would like to explore it in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Slovenia and the skiing was fantastic in Kranjska Gora. Our accommodation at Villa Planina was also excelletn and the unit was very well equipped. There were a few lights not working but other than that everything was great and you were there everytime we needed you. I'm sure we'll be back in the future.
We all had a wonderful time in Ratece over Christmas. The accomodation was wonderful and I will definitely recommend it to others.
We were very happy with the flat, excellent furniture and equipment, underfloor heating was very appreciated by my toddler and there was plenty of space for everyone to feel at ease. Everything was spick & span, the view was great and it was pretty quiet in winter, though the house is quite close to the main road so I dont know how it would be in summertime with windows open; anyway, traffic is very limited, I would say. The valley is really nice and ideal for outdoor people.
We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was mixed - wet at the beginning and end and fine in the middle! Ratece is a lovely village - unspoilt - and we also liked Kranska Gora. We were so impressed with all the gardens of flowers and vegetables, and Slovenia was so clean - no litter anywhere! The apartment was very clean and comfortable. and mainly well equipped. The beds were very comfortable so we slept well after our energetic days. The housekeepers were very pleasant and helpful.
The ground floor apartment of Villa Planina is a very nice, well equipped apartment where you can stay easily with 4 adults...Indeed, the living room is very nice, the kitchen is well equipped except for the very small detail of making coffee (Turkish way). Also the bathroom and the bedrooms were excellent. The property was very clean, brand-new, and very practical. The view around is indeed superb. In the village are different restaurants, were you can eat very well and not expensive at all. Slovenia is a wonderful nice country, very divers, and the apartment was a success. The service of “Think Slovenia” is excellent. Every detail can be arranged by mail. Responses are fast an accurate. The holiday in Slovenia was a success, and my wife and I have decided already; when possible we will once come back.
We were travelling in Slovenia without our own car and we were surprised, how easy and cheap it was to get everywhere by bus. The apartment we had chosen was even better than we expected. It was well-located and clean, everything worked without problems. And the view! From every window we could watch the mountains and wonder, if this really is true or not. Even thoug the village was small, we could buy food or eat in a restaurant there. For party animals we would probably recommend another destination, at least in summer. But for an active (sport) holiday the village with its surroundings is a perfect choice. No doubt, we´ll surely recommend this place for everyone looking for an adventure in an unbelievable nature and close to the local people. For one week we didn´t feel like "normal" tourists, but like part of the life this nice village.

ponovno smo bili zelo zadovoljni z bivanjem v Villi Planini, imeli smo se super in takoj smo se strinjali, da spet ponovimo drugo leto. Prav tako so bili navdušeni naši prijatelji, ki so nas obiskali in sicer v tej meri, da bi se nam radi prihodnje leto kar pridružili. V tem primeru bomo potrebovali še eno enoto za štiričlansko družino (Loft Left ali Loft Right).

Very nice and quiet location - Location is excellent for cyclists, close to cycling way. The village Rateče is very nice and quite. We were family with two kids (7 and 9 years), definatelly can recommend it. Many other attractions are nearby (Lago Fusine, Zelenci, Mangart, Kranjska Gora, Planica, Dreiländereck, asw.). Thank you

The apartment is ideal for a family vacation because there is all the space and all the amenities for 6 people. Also ideal for long holidays - very convenient and quiet and in 5 minutes you reach the ski slopes. For sure I will recommend it to friends and family.

nama je u Villi Planina bilo apsolutno predivno i zaista to kazem od srca. Apartman je predivan, ima sve sto jednoj porodici treba od masine za ves, usisivaca, daske za peglanje do masine za sudje. Takodje posudje koje se nalazi u apartmanu je bas ono koje je potrebno za kuhanje. Tokom svog boravka nisam imala utisak da mi ista nedostaje Takodje kreveti i jastuci su nevjerovatno udobni. Ako tome jos dodam stoni tenis i bilijar koji smo igrali gotovo svaki dan - moj utisak je apsolutno fenomenalan! Ono sto me je posebno odusevilo jeste DVD sa mojom omiljenom serijom - Hercula Poirota. To kada sam vidjela - moje odusvljenje je bilo potpuno. :)
Ono sto eventualno mogu sugerisati i to se odnosi na slucaj porodica sa djecom jeste da se ubaci neki TV kanal sa crtanim filmovima. Mi smo sve to gledali na internetu ali znam da je to dosta zgodno za djecu.
Sto se tice same lokacije kuce, ona je zaista izvanredna, jer se nalazi preko puta staza za nordijsko skijanje a nedaleko su i male staze na Planici za alpsko smucanje za djecu kao i za odrasle pocetnike (mogu posluziti). Dobra stvar ovoga jeste sto ski karte iz Kranjske Gore se mogu koristiti i na Planici i u Podkorenu. Znaci super pozicija za porodice ciji clanovi imaju razlicita interesovanja: npr. djeca se skijaju na Planici, jedan roditelj je takodje na Planici gdje moze da koristi stazu za nordijsko trcanje dok mu dijete skija a drugi roditelj seta do Tamara i slicno.
Iskreno se nadam da smo i mi bili dobri gosti i da ste i vi zadovoljni sa nama kao gostima kao sto smo mi sa vama kao domacinima.
Ja planiram da dodjem ponovo i to najvjerovatnije do kraja marta pa cu se potruditi da sto prije rezervisem slobodne dane na poslu kako bi mogla rezervisati termin kod vas.

Rada bi se vam zahvalila za prijetno bivanje v mesecu januarju 2013 v vaši Villa Planini. Bili smo zelo zadovoljni z namestitvijo. Lokacija hiške nam je bila zaradi teka na smučeh odlična, pa tudi igralnice v kleti so bile super za naše otroke, kakor tudi za nas odrasle, tako, da se bomo sigurno še kdaj obrnili na vas. Mogoče bi vam dala samo eno sugestijo, da bi v predsobi APP namestili na steno še kakšen obešalnik, da se lažje razobesi športna oblačila, da se posušijo, sploh v primeru slabega vremena.
Moram priznat da smo bili z namestitvijo zelo zadovoljni, pripomba bi bila mogoče samo da da je bila spalnica mogoče za malenkost prehladna glede na to da sta tam spale hčere. Drugače pa vse super o samem apartmaju, tako da se bomo še vrnili k vam z veseljem glede na to da imate ugodne cene. Sem pa že tudi sam dal kar nekaj priporočil za vas in ja seveda želim v prihodnje dobivati od vas obvestila o ugodnostih.
V Ratečah oz. Kr. Gori smo preživeli čudovite štiri dni. Bila je prava zimska idila in naporen, a prekrasen konec tedna. O apartmaju ne bi izgubljal besed. Ohranjen, komforten, moderen, s čudovito igralnico,... Le prvi dan in del drugega dne nam je bilo malo hladno, a s posredovanjem g. Markota smo zadevo enostavno rešili. Pogovarjali smo se že, da se bomo v Villo Planino še vrnili.
Najprej bi pohvalil vašo dobro opremljeno apartmajsko hišo, ki nam je bila zelo všeč. Pohvalil bi tudi vašega soseda, ki nam je takoj priskočil na pomoč, ko smo imeli težavo s televizijo. Zadovoljni smo bili tudi z ogrevanjem, čeprav smo bili najprej malo skeptični, ker ni bilo radiatorjev. Upamo, da bomo še kdaj letovali v vaših apartmajih pod ugodnimi pogoji, mogoče tudi v manjših apartmajih.

It should be very good if somebody could put signs on the containers for rubbish, so it is clear what you must put in what rubbish bin, it is different from home and we should like to do it in the right way.
