The Neo-Renaissance Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, previously named the Provincial Theatre was built between 1890 & 1892 by Czech architects. The building has recently undergone extensive renovation and extension works, that saw it closed to the public for six years. The overall cost for the renovation amounted to €42M.
