Church of the Ascension
Bogojina Church of the Ascension was extensively rebuilt in the past and the original plan in 1924 was to totally rebuild the church. Using plans by Slovene architect Jože Plečnik the new church was built between 1924 and 1925 and later furnished in the 1950's. The church now stands as one of the most interesting examples of architecture from the first half of the 20th century. Plečnik included the older structure in the new building. It is used as an entrance to the main church hall. Local clay was used for the decoration of the nave ceiling.
