Mountain View House is located at the top end of a quiet and beautiful street of holiday chalets surrounded by forest and offering one of the prettiest alpine panoramas in the Julian Alps with views of the stunning Špik mountain group. In the village of Gozd Martuljek cca 2km from the house is the excellent Spik hotel with top class swimming and spa facilities. In the centre of the village is an excellent and long established traditional Slovenian “gostilna” (inn). There are also a number of walking trails from the village in particular up to the lovely Martuljek waterfalls but also to various local peaks and the wonderful high alpine village of Srednji vrh. The excellent family friendly Jesenice to Tarvisio cycle trail passes the village running along the path of a disused railway line. Kranjska Gora is just 5km away (5 minutes by car) and is the most famous mountain resort in Slovenia. The skiing is the main attraction for many people – Kranjska Gora is a superb resort for families and beginner – intermediate level skiers, with pistes easily accessible from Podkoren or the Kranjska Gora side and a range of other Winter sports in proximity - cross country skiing, sled dog tours, ice climbing, ski mountaineering & ice skating. With stunning mountain scenery, great access to the Triglav National Park and a host of summer outdoor pursuits the resort remains very popular all year round. Lake Jasna, a short walk out of the centre of Kranjska Gora offers a stunning place to swim and sunbathe in beautiful mountain scenery. Walking is one of the main summer attractions with a huge range of beautiful trails to suit all abilities. There is also a huge range of mountain biking paths in the region including a World Cup mountain bike park on the Kranjska Gora ski slopes. Summer sledding, an activity extremely popular with kids, is also available on some of the the ski slopes during the hot summer months. Kranjska Gora itself is a pretty alpine small town, very family friendly, with lots of lively restaurants, bars and a couple of swimming pools / spas. There is a wide range of other ski areas in Slovenia / Italy / Austria within a day trip distance from the property. World famous Lake Bled is just a 25 minute drive from the property.
Please note that the short access road to the property is steep and in snowy Winter conditions a 4x4 is recommended.

Mountain View House is a great 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom holiday home in proximity to Kranjska Gora, renovated in 2018 and carefully fitted out with guest enjoyment in mind. Arriving at the house, the parking area is on the same level as the lower garden and entry to the bicylcle / ski storeroom (which also offers access through to the basement bedroom). A staircase takes you up to the main entrance and to the fabulous terrace area with sofa and chairs overlooking the stunning views of the Julian Alps. An entry area leads to a bathroom on the middle floor and a lovely open plan living room / dining room with fireplace and semi open plan kitchen corner, all with great views of the mountains and surrounding forests and access out to the main terrace. On the upper floor are located a smaller twin bedroom and the spacious master bedroom with panoramic balcony and ensuite bathroom. On this level is also balcony to the rear of the house. Please note the staircase is quite steep and may not be suitable for smaller children. On the lower level is a large bedroom with 140cm double bed and 120 cm sofabed and ensuite bathroom.
