Polovnik House is set in the centre of the peaceful village of Srpenica with views over the village square and the stunning Julian Alps beyond and with access to the Soca River in easy walking distance (The village of Srpenica is an access point to the Soca River for rafting and kayaking). Closest restaurant and convenience store are in the next village Zaga (cca 3 km). Please note, the house is near the local church and the bells are rung first thing every morning, which is not uncommon in a lot of Slovenian villages - it is a nation of enthusiastic bell ringers!
Circa 10 km South is the lovely historic town of Kobarid which offers some of Slovenia's best restaurants and a fascinating museum to the role of the area as a major front in the first world war. 10 km in the other direction is the attractive resort town of Bovec at the head of the Soca Valley which offers a wide range of shops, some fantastic restaurants and various other amenities, not to mention a pretty main square, lovely buildings and a great atmosphere (Bovec is a magnet for adventure sports enthusiasts which gives the place a vibrant, active, outdoors feel).
Bovec is also the location of the gondola up to skiing at Kanin - Sella Nevea excellent cross-border resort (also open in summer for spectacular walking and mountain biking), which is just 10 minutes drive from the house. There is a huge range of outdoor activities in the area from hiking and mountain biking, which are possible from your doorstep in Srpenica, river pursuits such as rafting , kayaking, canyoning & flyfishing and mountain sports including paragliding and skiing. The area focuses around the “Emerald” Soca River which is a remarkably beautiful and unspoilt river valley with its source in the heart of the Triglav National Park (a pristine alpine wilderness with its border just outside Bovec) and running down to the Italian Adriatic. There is a wonderful lake just 20 minutes from Bovec over the Predel pass into Italy – called Raibl Lake; it is a stunningly beautiful and wild lake between the Kanin and Montaz massifs in the "forgotten" valley which runs from Tarvisio to Sella Nevea. Kobarid is the other main town of interest in the area. Further down the valley is the spectacular Tolminska Korita (Tolmin gorge) and a pretty lake at Most na Soci.

Polovnik House sets excellent standards of accommodation and comfort for up to 8 people with a great deal of care and attention put into it by its owners. A wonderful place for a couple, family or group of friends to be based to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Soca Valley.
The house offers a large open plan kitchen, dining room and living room with log burner. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms, one with balcony and great mountain views. In addition there are two bathrooms, double sofa bed in the living room, kitchen storeroom and cellar room for storage of skis etc.

Polovnik House is a charming 3 bedroom chalet located on the main square of the peaceful riverside village of Srpenica midway between Bovec & Kobarid (circa 10km to each) in the heart of the stunning Soca Valley. The house is beautifully renovated to an excellent standard combining many carefully restored original features with modern comforts and facilities, creating a welcoming atmosphere and retaining the alpine charm of the building. There is a huge range of outdoor activities such as walking and cycling possible from your doorstep as well as a wide range of river pursuits (kayak / rafting access from the village) and mountain sports in the area (skiing at Kanin just ten minutes drive).

We had a lovely stay in this house. Located in a lovely small village with great access to the sofa valley. The house had everything that we needed and the bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. Check-in was quick and simple.
The village is very nice with kind people. We made some great walks to the nearest bridge above the Soca. The view is very nice to the church, but the bells are very loud and they start at 7:00 am. :)

We spent four nights at the Polovnik House with a group of six people and we LOVED the house. The appartment was clean, comfortable, warm and the log burner in the living room made the atmosphere even better. The rooms had a great size, the kitchen was well equipped and in the cellar you can chop your own wood. For New Year's we were welcomed by the village people with some mulled wine, so we felt really welcomed not just in the house but also in the area. The surroundings were picture perfect (mountains, river, forest), there is a chance to do some little walks and to go to the nearby village to get some food in a comfy restaurant. We had no car for our trip, but we had no problem to get to Srpenica by bus. On the way back we took the taxi to Ljubljana, and for six people the price was really ok. There is nothing I could complain about this house, since it was perfect and we will always remember our stay in this little place.

Wir waren begeistert von diesem Ferienhaus, es war sauber, geräumig für 5 Personen, und alles in sehr gutem Zustand. Die Lage ist großartig, direkt gegenüber eine schöne Kirche, nebenan ein Sportplatz mit kleinen Toren und sehr guten Basketballkörben, und nach den Ausflügen zurück ins kleine verschlafene Srepenica zu kommen war herrlich. Zum Soča-Fluss sind es zu Fuß nur etwa 15 min, dort ist unter einer aufregenden Hängebrücke ("most Lipuc") ein schöner Badeplatz. Die Gegend ist großartig für Ausflüge, Rafting bei SočaSplash war genial!

Cozy and Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at this pleasant, spacious and well-located home. We would recommend it to others! There is no air conditioning but the fans in the bedrooms help with the heat. Also, the little village doesn’t have a market so plan to stock up on food items before you arrive! The in and out was very convenient and the neighbors were very friendly too! This house located in the quiet and beautiful town of srpenica is perfect for a little holiday with family! There is a playground across the street and also the soca is only a nice little walk away! The house offers everything you need and is very well equpped! We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely return to soca valley!
The location of the house is amazing, we were there during the Easter weekend, and the whole village came together celebrating. It was a very unique experience. Dan was very helpful (there was a problem with the wifi and the heating, but he managed to solve them quickly), but the house’s condition is a little worse than the pictures would make you think.

In it, we spent 90% of the total time spent in the house. In the basement you can chop firewood) When you live there you literally dip into the life and the foundations of the local people of a small town. Usually you only guess how they live here, driving by car past. Everything was wonderful, in case of any questions, the host responded to our requests within an hour. Thank!

The house is located in very touristic area, it has many areas around to visit, especially in warm time, for winter time you have a ski area. It had all facilities inside. No possibility for barbecue. Nice kitchen. I would recommend.
It’s the best place in Bovec area!
This house is in a lovely spot right in the centre of the village and very convenient for Bovec and Kobarid. It is comfortable and clean and feels very authentic. The lack of any patio /terrace is a shame as it would have been nice to eat outside due to very hot weather. It is also not the quietest of places! The church bells start to ring very loudly right opposite the house from 7am onwards and the neighbours set off in their tractors at 6am. This all makes for a very authentic experience but we were a little tired on some days! In all a nice house in a beautiful part of Slovenia
Dans place is in a pretty little village just 10 mins drive from Bovec where all the adventure sports are. There is absolutely nothing in the village (no shops, restaurants, etc) so be prepared to drive! There is a mini supermarket 5 mins drive away. The house was clean and slept 6 of us very comfortably. The cottage was in a great location and was well equipped . The neighbours were very nice and the arrangements to get into the cottage were very clear . I would have no problems recommending this holiday accomodation.
Beautiful and charming house in a quiet neighbourhood
This beautiful house is recently renovated and is very well equipped. We found the double bed too small for two persons. Although it is a very quiet village with friendly neighbours you have to endure the ringing bells of the church (right in front of the house) early in the morning. It is an excellent base for different activities (hiking, canyoning,..) We even crossed the border to Italy visited Cividale del Friuli.

I would agree with the other reviews. This place was comfortable, well stocked and each bedroom was very roomy. The village is very quiet with nice access to the river. The location was perfect right in between Bovec and Kobarid so made a great home base for activities in both cities.

Sehr schöner Urlaub in toller Umgebung. Nette Leute im ganzen Ort. Unsere 3 Kinder (10, 7 und 4 haben jeden Tag draußen mit den einheimischen Kindern gespielt. Tipp: Badestelle oberhalb des Campingplatz "Camp Soca". Sprünge von Felsen möglich - unser Jungs fanden es toll! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Haus liegt ca 10 min mit dem Auto von Bovec und Kobarid entfernt. Alles in allem ist das Haus sehr großzügig. Die Kommunikation hat schnell und problemlos funktioniert, auch wenn wir nie einen Vermieter zu Gesicht bekommen haben. Eine Notfallnummer war verfügbar, wir haben sie allerdings nicht gebraucht. Parken war problemlos möglich. Das Haus liegt am Hauptplatz in Srpenica. Jeden Tag um 7:00 läutet die Glocke. Leider ist der Ventilator mit dem Licht verbunden, also ist es entweder hell oder heiß. Ich glaube aber, dass das die meiste Zeit kein Problem darstellt, da es normalerweise kühler als im August 17 ist. Der Soča ist ca 10 min zu Fuß zu erreichen (bei einer schönen Hängebrücke). Insgesamt eine volle Empfehlung.

Finished to a high standard, this house was charming, practical and a delight to stay in. We used the house as a base to explore the surrounding region, including kayaking on the Soca River (stunning!) and walking in the mountains and foothills. Perfectly located in a quiet village, only a few minutes drive from Bovec, the location ensured we could maximise our time out exploring. Italy is practically next door (we flew in to Venice Treviso and drove to the house) and with so much to see and do in the Julian Allps we didn't have a dull day. Looking forward to returning again soon!
We used the house as a base for a week's kayaking. Polovnik Hous was just as described on the web site. It has recently been fully renovated to a high standard. There is everything you need in the house to be fully independent and it is very comfortable. The village is quiet but there are bars and restaurants a short distance away. It was a great place to relax in a peaceful location. Although there is satellite TV and an internet connection if you feel the need them. I would recommend the property as a good base for anyone visiting the area.
Situated in a calm village, just down the road from Bovec, this lovely little house was a delight to stay in. Well appointed, comfortable, and roomy, it was a great base to explore the region from. The stunningly beautiful Soca river is right next door, and Italy is a very short drive away.

Stayed here for a long weekends Kayaking on the river Soca, the cottage is well located and close to the river access points for Rafting and Kayaking. The house has been finished to a high standard and the kitchen is well equipped. Comfortable beds and lounge for relaxing after a hard day spent outdoors. There is a great little restaurant in the village with good food and this is a short stroll from the house.
I have to say I enjoyed every minute of our stay in Polovnik House pretty much and I am sure my family feels the same. We were amazed how beautiful the house itself was, everything was well organised, all the important details were explained and we were provided with extremely useful information and suggestions about the leisure and sport opportunities nearby as well.
I think I was very lucky to find your company and Polovnik House and I am sure we will visit Slovenia and Think Slovenia again.
We are back from our stay at Polovnik house and like to inform you that we are very happy to have been in this well located house with its stylish interior, comfortable sleeping and bath rooms, well equipped kitchen, living and dining room. Soca valley was a surprise and we enjoyed much the various activities as walking tours, visit of canyons and water falls and - for the first time - a rafting tour at Soca river. The local Restaurant at Srpenica really happened to be a good one as stated in your recommendations.
If we come back to Soca valley in the future, we will ask for another stay at Polovnik house .

Polovnik House - thank you very much for a most enjoyable stay in a very well appointed house. The village is lovely and the church bells are a surprise to begin with but you do get used to them. Lots of ideas for walks and activites, maybe just advice wearing suitable walking boots for walks by waterfalls.

Yes indeed we very much enjoyed Slovenia & Polovnik House was perfect for us: The house is very well furnished.All basic cooking materials available – also some food in store so that the first day is easily passed. The situation on the village market square was very agreeable & allowed us to “participate” in the daily life of Srpenica. The village is very well located for all sorts of activities (we did some kayaking & mostly walking the high mountains) with the river very nearby.
The apartment is very well equipped and of high quality. Nothing was missing. Everything was clean and cosy. We enjoyed it very much and we have felt ourselves very well.
Good Morning Ana, I loved the Polovnik House and our stay there. We had a lovely peaceful and restful time. The house was perfect for our needs ,very well planned and equipped .We even enjoyed the bells... finally. Our neighbors were most friendly and helpful. I had a ride to Bovec with one of them and took the bus back with the school children. The great grandfather of the family next door asked me to take his picture with his great granddaughter which I did of course .Where may I send it ? The restaurant was very good and handy after a long day at the river. The bread and fish vans were colorful and welcome as we did not have food at first.. All in all we had a most pleasant stay in the village ..I wish I were back there ..We took the walk to the river and I walked every day around the area enjoying the flowers and animals.. The church choir on Sunday was amazing .I highly recommend the House and the area to anyone interested in a summer vacation that is relaxing as well as adventurous . I will keep you in mind if we have the chance to compete in Solkan in the future or if we just want to escape the bustle of our lives..Also Ana thank Pia for her help with my questions ..

I would agree with the other reviews. This place was comfortable, well stocked and each bedroom was very roomy. The village is very quiet with nice access to the river. The location was perfect right in between Bovec and Kobarid so made a great home base for activities in both cities.

The house is very big inside. On 15 minutes walking distance there is a nice hanging bridge over the river. Only 10 minutes drive away from Bovec

Sehr schöner Urlaub in toller Umgebung. Nette Leute im ganzen Ort. Unsere 3 Kinder (10, 7 und 4 haben jeden Tag draußen mit den einheimischen Kindern gespielt. Tipp: Badestelle oberhalb des Campingplatz "Camp Soca". Sprünge von Felsen möglich - unser Jungs fanden es toll! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Haus liegt ca 10 min mit dem Auto von Bovec und Kobarid entfernt. Alles in allem ist das Haus sehr großzügig. Die Kommunikation hat schnell und problemlos funktioniert, auch wenn wir nie einen Vermieter zu Gesicht bekommen haben. Eine Notfallnummer war verfügbar, wir haben sie allerdings nicht gebraucht. Parken war problemlos möglich. Das Haus liegt am Hauptplatz in Srpenica. Jeden Tag um 7:00 läutet die Glocke. Leider ist der Ventilator mit dem Licht verbunden, also ist es entweder hell oder heiß. Ich glaube aber, dass das die meiste Zeit kein Problem darstellt, da es normalerweise kühler als im August 17 ist. Der Soča ist ca 10 min zu Fuß zu erreichen (bei einer schönen Hängebrücke). Insgesamt eine volle Empfehlung.

Finished to a high standard, this house was charming, practical and a delight to stay in. We used the house as a base to explore the surrounding region, including kayaking on the Soca River (stunning!) and walking in the mountains and foothills. Perfectly located in a quiet village, only a few minutes drive from Bovec, the location ensured we could maximise our time out exploring. Italy is practically next door (we flew in to Venice Treviso and drove to the house) and with so much to see and do in the Julian Allps we didn't have a dull day. Looking forward to returning again soon!
We used the house as a base for a week's kayaking. Polovnik Hous was just as described on the web site. It has recently been fully renovated to a high standard. There is everything you need in the house to be fully independent and it is very comfortable. The village is quiet but there are bars and restaurants a short distance away. It was a great place to relax in a peaceful location. Although there is satellite TV and an internet connection if you feel the need them. I would recommend the property as a good base for anyone visiting the area.
Situated in a calm village, just down the road from Bovec, this lovely little house was a delight to stay in. Well appointed, comfortable, and roomy, it was a great base to explore the region from. The stunningly beautiful Soca river is right next door, and Italy is a very short drive away.

Stayed here for a long weekends Kayaking on the river Soca, the cottage is well located and close to the river access points for Rafting and Kayaking. The house has been finished to a high standard and the kitchen is well equipped. Comfortable beds and lounge for relaxing after a hard day spent outdoors. There is a great little restaurant in the village with good food and this is a short stroll from the house.
I have to say I enjoyed every minute of our stay in Polovnik House pretty much and I am sure my family feels the same. We were amazed how beautiful the house itself was, everything was well organised, all the important details were explained and we were provided with extremely useful information and suggestions about the leisure and sport opportunities nearby as well.
I think I was very lucky to find your company and Polovnik House and I am sure we will visit Slovenia and Think Slovenia again.
We are back from our stay at Polovnik house and like to inform you that we are very happy to have been in this well located house with its stylish interior, comfortable sleeping and bath rooms, well equipped kitchen, living and dining room. Soca valley was a surprise and we enjoyed much the various activities as walking tours, visit of canyons and water falls and - for the first time - a rafting tour at Soca river. The local Restaurant at Srpenica really happened to be a good one as stated in your recommendations.
If we come back to Soca valley in the future, we will ask for another stay at Polovnik house .

Good Morning Ana, I loved the Polovnik House and our stay there. We had a lovely peaceful and restful time. The house was perfect for our needs ,very well planned and equipped .We even enjoyed the bells... finally. Our neighbors were most friendly and helpful. I had a ride to Bovec with one of them and took the bus back with the school children. The great grandfather of the family next door asked me to take his picture with his great granddaughter which I did of course .Where may I send it ? The restaurant was very good and handy after a long day at the river. The bread and fish vans were colorful and welcome as we did not have food at first.. All in all we had a most pleasant stay in the village ..I wish I were back there ..We took the walk to the river and I walked every day around the area enjoying the flowers and animals.. The church choir on Sunday was amazing .I highly recommend the House and the area to anyone interested in a summer vacation that is relaxing as well as adventurous . I will keep you in mind if we have the chance to compete in Solkan in the future or if we just want to escape the bustle of our lives..Also Ana thank Pia for her help with my questions ..
Polovnik House - thank you very much for a most enjoyable stay in a very well appointed house. The village is lovely and the church bells are a surprise to begin with but you do get used to them. Lots of ideas for walks and activites, maybe just advice wearing suitable walking boots for walks by waterfalls.

Yes indeed we very much enjoyed Slovenia & Polovnik House was perfect for us: The house is very well furnished.All basic cooking materials available – also some food in store so that the first day is easily passed. The situation on the village market square was very agreeable & allowed us to “participate” in the daily life of Srpenica. The village is very well located for all sorts of activities (we did some kayaking & mostly walking the high mountains) with the river very nearby.
The apartment is very well equipped and of high quality. Nothing was missing. Everything was clean and cosy. We enjoyed it very much and we have felt ourselves very well.

The village is very nice with kind people. We made some great walks to the nearest bridge above the Soca. The view is very nice to the church, but the bells are very loud and they start at 7:00 am. :)

We spent four nights at the Polovnik House with a group of six people and we LOVED the house. The appartment was clean, comfortable, warm and the log burner in the living room made the atmosphere even better. The rooms had a great size, the kitchen was well equipped and in the cellar you can chop your own wood. For New Year's we were welcomed by the village people with some mulled wine, so we felt really welcomed not just in the house but also in the area. The surroundings were picture perfect (mountains, river, forest), there is a chance to do some little walks and to go to the nearby village to get some food in a comfy restaurant. We had no car for our trip, but we had no problem to get to Srpenica by bus. On the way back we took the taxi to Ljubljana, and for six people the price was really ok. There is nothing I could complain about this house, since it was perfect and we will always remember our stay in this little place.

The home has modern furnishings, a well equipped kitchen, a washing machine and dryer, and can accommodate 8 adults, provided two are sleeping on the pull out couch in the living room area. There are enough chairs for all these people, and the table is large enough, as well.

Wir waren begeistert von diesem Ferienhaus, es war sauber, geräumig für 5 Personen, und alles in sehr gutem Zustand. Die Lage ist großartig, direkt gegenüber eine schöne Kirche, nebenan ein Sportplatz mit kleinen Toren und sehr guten Basketballkörben, und nach den Ausflügen zurück ins kleine verschlafene Srepenica zu kommen war herrlich. Zum Soča-Fluss sind es zu Fuß nur etwa 15 min, dort ist unter einer aufregenden Hängebrücke ("most Lipuc") ein schöner Badeplatz. Die Gegend ist großartig für Ausflüge, Rafting bei SočaSplash war genial!

Cozy and Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at this pleasant, spacious and well-located home. We would recommend it to others! There is no air conditioning but the fans in the bedrooms help with the heat. Also, the little village doesn’t have a market so plan to stock up on food items before you arrive! The in and out was very convenient and the neighbors were very friendly too! This house located in the quiet and beautiful town of srpenica is perfect for a little holiday with family! There is a playground across the street and also the soca is only a nice little walk away! The house offers everything you need and is very well equpped! We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely return to soca valley!
The location of the house is amazing, we were there during the Easter weekend, and the whole village came together celebrating. It was a very unique experience. Dan was very helpful (there was a problem with the wifi and the heating, but he managed to solve them quickly), but the house’s condition is a little worse than the pictures would make you think.

Обычно ты только догадываешься, как они тут живут, проезжая на автомобиле мимо. Все было замечательно, при возникновении любых вопросов, хозяин в течение часа реагировал на наши обращения. Спасибо!
Thank you for the wonderful holiday! The house is very cozy and has everything you need. The main area of the house is a dining area with a kitchen and a fireplace-stove. In it, we spent 90% of the total time spent in the house. In the basement you can chop firewood) When you live there you literally dip into the life and the foundations of the local people of a small town. Usually you only guess how they live here, driving by car past. Everything was wonderful, in case of any questions, the host responded to our requests within an hour. Thank!

The house is located in very touristic area, it has many areas around to visit, especially in warm time, for winter time you have a ski area. It had all facilities inside. No possibility for barbecue. Nice kitchen. I would recommend.
It’s the best place in Bovec area!
This house is in a lovely spot right in the centre of the village and very convenient for Bovec and Kobarid. It is comfortable and clean and feels very authentic. The lack of any patio /terrace is a shame as it would have been nice to eat outside due to very hot weather. It is also not the quietest of places! The church bells start to ring very loudly right opposite the house from 7am onwards and the neighbours set off in their tractors at 6am. This all makes for a very authentic experience but we were a little tired on some days! In all a nice house in a beautiful part of Slovenia
Dans place is in a pretty little village just 10 mins drive from Bovec where all the adventure sports are. There is absolutely nothing in the village (no shops, restaurants, etc) so be prepared to drive! There is a mini supermarket 5 mins drive away. The house was clean and slept 6 of us very comfortably. The directions and instructions for arrival were excellent. Thanks Dan!
The cottage was in a great location and was well equipped . The neighbours were very nice and the arrangements to get into the cottage were very clear . I would have no problems recommending this holiday accomodation.
Beautiful and charming house in a quiet neighbourhood
This beautiful house is recently renovated and is very well equipped. We found the double bed too small for two persons. Although it is a very quiet village with friendly neighbours you have to endure the ringing bells of the church (right in front of the house) early in the morning. It is an excellent base for different activities (hiking, canyoning,..) We even crossed the border to Italy visited Cividale del Friuli.

The cottage was in a great location and was well equipped . The neighbours were very nice and the arrangements to get into the cottage were very clear . I would have no problems recommending this holiday accomodation.
Beautiful and charming house in a quiet neighbourhood
This beautiful house is recently renovated and is very well equipped. We found the double bed too small for two persons. Although it is a very quiet village with friendly neighbours you have to endure the ringing bells of the church (right in front of the house) early in the morning. It is an excellent base for different activities (hiking, canyoning,..) We even crossed the border to Italy visited Cividale del Friuli.

I would agree with the other reviews. This place was comfortable, well stocked and each bedroom was very roomy. The village is very quiet with nice access to the river. The location was perfect right in between Bovec and Kobarid so made a great home base for activities in both cities.

The house is very big inside. On 15 minutes walking distance there is a nice hanging bridge over the river. Only 10 minutes drive away from Bovec
We had a good time in Srpenica. A good place to start, whatever you wanna do, between bovec ans kobarid. The house is beautyfull.
Sehr schöner Urlaub in toller Umgebung. Nette Leute im ganzen Ort. Unsere 3 Kinder (10, 7 und 4 haben jeden Tag draußen mit den einheimischen Kindern gespielt. Tipp: Badestelle oberhalb des Campingplatz "Camp Soca". Sprünge von Felsen möglich - unser Jungs fanden es toll! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Haus liegt ca 10 min mit dem Auto von Bovec und Kobarid entfernt. Alles in allem ist das Haus sehr großzügig. Die Kommunikation hat schnell und problemlos funktioniert, auch wenn wir nie einen Vermieter zu Gesicht bekommen haben. Eine Notfallnummer war verfügbar, wir haben sie allerdings nicht gebraucht. Parken war problemlos möglich. Das Haus liegt am Hauptplatz in Srpenica. Jeden Tag um 7:00 läutet die Glocke. Leider ist der Ventilator mit dem Licht verbunden, also ist es entweder hell oder heiß. Ich glaube aber, dass das die meiste Zeit kein Problem darstellt, da es normalerweise kühler als im August 17 ist. Der Soča ist ca 10 min zu Fuß zu erreichen (bei einer schönen Hängebrücke). Insgesamt eine volle Empfehlung.

Das Haus selbst ist sauber, großzügig geschnitten und verfügt über eine sehr gute Ausstattung. Die Schlüsselübergabe und Formalitäten waren kein Problem. Alles in allem: Eine dicke Empfehlung!!!!”

Finished to a high standard, this house was charming, practical and a delight to stay in. We used the house as a base to explore the surrounding region, including kayaking on the Soca River (stunning!) and walking in the mountains and foothills. Perfectly located in a quiet village, only a few minutes drive from Bovec, the location ensured we could maximise our time out exploring. Italy is practically next door (we flew in to Venice Treviso and drove to the house) and with so much to see and do in the Julian Allps we didn't have a dull day. Looking forward to returning again soon!
We used the house as a base for a week's kayaking. Polovnik Hous was just as described on the web site. It has recently been fully renovated to a high standard. There is everything you need in the house to be fully independent and it is very comfortable. The village is quiet but there are bars and restaurants a short distance away. It was a great place to relax in a peaceful location. Although there is satellite TV and an internet connection if you feel the need them. I would recommend the property as a good base for anyone visiting the area.
Situated in a calm village, just down the road from Bovec, this lovely little house was a delight to stay in. Well appointed, comfortable, and roomy, it was a great base to explore the region from. The stunningly beautiful Soca river is right next door, and Italy is a very short drive away.

Stayed here for a long weekends Kayaking on the river Soca, the cottage is well located and close to the river access points for Rafting and Kayaking. The house has been finished to a high standard and the kitchen is well equipped. Comfortable beds and lounge for relaxing after a hard day spent outdoors. There is a great little restaurant in the village with good food and this is a short stroll from the house.
I have to say I enjoyed every minute of our stay in Polovnik House pretty much and I am sure my family feels the same. We were amazed how beautiful the house itself was, everything was well organised, all the important details were explained and we were provided with extremely useful information and suggestions about the leisure and sport opportunities nearby as well.
I think I was very lucky to find your company and Polovnik House and I am sure we will visit Slovenia and Think Slovenia again.
We are back from our stay at Polovnik house and like to inform you that we are very happy to have been in this well located house with its stylish interior, comfortable sleeping and bath rooms, well equipped kitchen, living and dining room. Soca valley was a surprise and we enjoyed much the various activities as walking tours, visit of canyons and water falls and - for the first time - a rafting tour at Soca river. The local Restaurant at Srpenica really happened to be a good one as stated in your recommendations.
If we come back to Soca valley in the future, we will ask for another stay at Polovnik house .

Good Morning Ana, I loved the Polovnik House and our stay there. We had a lovely peaceful and restful time. The house was perfect for our needs ,very well planned and equipped .We even enjoyed the bells... finally. Our neighbors were most friendly and helpful. I had a ride to Bovec with one of them and took the bus back with the school children. The great grandfather of the family next door asked me to take his picture with his great granddaughter which I did of course .Where may I send it ? The restaurant was very good and handy after a long day at the river. The bread and fish vans were colorful and welcome as we did not have food at first.. All in all we had a most pleasant stay in the village ..I wish I were back there ..We took the walk to the river and I walked every day around the area enjoying the flowers and animals.. The church choir on Sunday was amazing .I highly recommend the House and the area to anyone interested in a summer vacation that is relaxing as well as adventurous . I will keep you in mind if we have the chance to compete in Solkan in the future or if we just want to escape the bustle of our lives..Also Ana thank Pia for her help with my questions ..
Polovnik House - thank you very much for a most enjoyable stay in a very well appointed house. The village is lovely and the church bells are a surprise to begin with but you do get used to them. Lots of ideas for walks and activites, maybe just advice wearing suitable walking boots for walks by waterfalls.

Yes indeed we very much enjoyed Slovenia & Polovnik House was perfect for us: The house is very well furnished.All basic cooking materials available – also some food in store so that the first day is easily passed. The situation on the village market square was very agreeable & allowed us to “participate” in the daily life of Srpenica. The village is very well located for all sorts of activities (we did some kayaking & mostly walking the high mountains) with the river very nearby.
The apartment is very well equipped and of high quality. Nothing was missing. Everything was clean and cosy. We enjoyed it very much and we have felt ourselves very well.
