Bohinjska Bela is a charming alpine village located overlooking start of the valley heading from Lake Bled towards Lake Bohinj. Whilst only 3km from Lake Bled if feels worlds apart as even in high summer season the village is quiet and peaceful. The house is located 800m from the centre of the village where the local supermarket and other amenities are located. In the other direction 1km away is a fantastic local restaurant and train station and a bus stop, making exploring the lakes region and rest of Slovenia possible by public transport. The house itself is in an quiet, elevated position in the village amongst other alpine farmhouses and offering good views of surrounding mountains and forests beyond the village in all directions. Lake Bled is just a 5 minutes drive away or alternatively a beautiful 45 min walk through beech woods, taking you to the most attractive side of the lake with the best beaches / swimming areas and unforgettable views of the island, castle and Alps in the background. A range of other walking routes up local peaks also start from Bohinjska Bela & around and there is a huge choice of other hiking and other outdoor activities available across the Lake Bled and Bohinj region. In Summer both lakes are great for swimming, relaxing on the lake shore and boating of various descriptions. The beautiful Sava Bohinjka which runs between Bled and Bohinj and pass beneath Bohinjska Bela village offers fantastic fly-fishing and kayaking. The surrounding mountains also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing. Pokljuka plateau to the north offers stunning alpine pastures and forests, magnificent walking and biking routes and Slovenia’s best cross country skiing in Winter. The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinj is one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 25 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the Summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. A 20 min drive from the house is the town of Bohinjska Bistrica which offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. Krvavec and Kranjska Gora ski resorts are both within 40 minutes drive of the house and there is a wide range of other ski areas in Slovenia / Italy / Austria within day trip distance. Ljubljana, Slovenia's stunning capital is circa 45 minutes drive away.

Departing Bled at 9am and returning from Vogel at 4pm. You will also find bus connections from Bled to a variety of destinations in Slovenia.|
Bela Cottage is a comfortable holiday home with generous rooms sizes and spaces throughout. It is equipped to a high standard with contemporary fittings and furnishings and warm wooden finishes, giving a homely, welcoming ambiance. On the ground floor there is a well equipped modern country kitchen with dishwasher at the heart of the house, leading to a spacious dining room with sofa seating and woodburner. Down a few stairs you find a separate living room with another fireplace, and entrance to storage room for garden furniture / BBQ etc. On this level is also a bathroom with jacuzzi bath and washing machine. A beautiful curved wooden staircase leads you to the top floor where there are 3 spacious bedrooms, one twin, two double (one with a balcony) and a bathroom with shower enclosure.
Steps just outside the front door lead to a small patio area with table, chairs and a BBQ. The house has wireless internet, satellite TV and a DVD player. Parking for one space adjoins the house with marking for a smaller second car possible adjoining the house or a short walk away.
