Apartment Ana is located in the heart of Piran's charming Venetian old town overlooking beautiful Tartini Square and just metres from the historical Cloister of the Franciscan Monastery; said to have the best acoustics of any building in Slovenia. From the apartment it is a short walk to Tartini Square, to a variety of great restaurants and any of the various beaches / swimming points in and around the town. Piran is undoubtedly one of Slovenia's premier attractions & its most beautiful coastal town - a medieval Venetian town on a peninsula jutting out into the Adriatic, packed with historic buildings, charming squares, great places to eat and drink & a wide range of spots to enjoy the warm Adriatic waters including a lovely long pebbly beach accessible from under St George's Cathedral.

A few kms from Piran are the bustling family resorts of Portoroz & the charming seaside town of Izola which offer a wide range of things to do and see and ample tourist facilities for all kinds of visitors. Inland lies picturesque wine growing country (mainly growing a delicious red grape variety unique to Slovenia - Refosk), some wonderful old stone hill top villages often with great local restaurants and wineries & a little further afield attractions such as the Secovlje salt plans, the world famous caves at Postojna & Škocjanske Jame (20 / 40 mins drive respectively), golf & the historic Lippizaner stud at Lipica (cca 30 mins drive). Slovenia's charming capital Ljubljana is just 90 minutes drive and day trips into Trieste & Venice in Italy or Croatia's beautiful Istrian coast are easily possible and highly recommended. A fantastic place to be based for a family or romantic break in the heart of the Slovenian Adriatic's most appealing destination.

Please don't book here, we want to keep it to ourselves!

This is a wonderful, lovely and comfortable apartment with everything you need for a great holiday. Top location in a little town we have totally fallen in love with: don't expect big hotels, casinos or deejays (you can get those at 5 km away in Portoroz), narrow cobblestone streets from the middle ages, a beautiful square in the middle, an oasis of kids on roller skates, playing football, toddlers crawling - there are no cars you know. The view from the roof terrace of the apartment is on the square, the marina, the Adriatic, Croatia, Italy and a big big sky. Ice cubes ready from the fridge, shower on the roof etc etc. Highly recommended!!

I just want to say that we had an absolutely fantastic holiday in a wonderful apartment. We will definitely be returning to beautiful Piran and we also want to see more of your country. Apartment Ana is so comfortable, even when we were seven in there for some days, it has everything you need and is clean and modern, and very pretty and pittoresque at the same time. The view from the terrace is amazing! The sea was great for swimming and the real winner is Tartini Square. It emanates peace and quiet and has a wonderful athmosphere. Well, I wrote quite a lot anyway. On top of all this it was very easy doing the booking with you. Thank you and Ana - whoever she is- for two great weeks!

Dear ThinkSlovenia,

I am getting back to your nice follow-up mail with some delay - my apologies for that.

We had a wonderful stay at Apartment Ana!  Wherever one goes on self-catering holidays, there is always a couple of minor glitches, even in the most luxurious houses / apartments, and our family, as avowed "self-caterers", has some experience with that.  It could not be otherwise, and I honestly believe it is a matter of adjusting certain expectations.  So, yeah, there are a couple of comments for improvement that I could come up with, and once there is more time (I am crazy busy right now), I will gladly do that.  The main thing is, though, that none of them are deal-breakers, or took away from the very nice experience we had with this property in Piran - we are very glad we went, feel we got our money's worth, and would not hesitate to recommend it to others (have in fact already done so :-)).

However, you may have noticed that on Tripadvisor, there is a highly negative (and, in my view, unhelpful, one-sided, and ultimately unfair) review of Apartment Ana by an American gentleman (I believe).  It actually made us (needlessly) nervous before the trip!  So, I intend to set the record straight on that rather influential public front (after all, most people nowadays check TA reviews for restaurants, hotels, cottages), with a review of my own.  And once I get around doing that, I will gladly send you a brief notice that I did that, and then you'll find my (as I said, minor) comments and criticism over there, along with glowing praise! :-)

Thank you again for everything - your agency is pleasant to work with, and does all the important things right.  Coming in through the mountaineous part in the north along our trip, the wife and I regretted that it was really not feasible (because of the long travel distance, and because of a carful of thirsty and tired kids) to explore the Triglav national reserve area a bit, and it is therefore entirely possible that we will visit Slovenia again.  If and when that happens, I shall definitely check out your offerings.

Have a nice summer,

We have enjoyed the holiday very much and the apartment is really beautiful.
As we have friends in Piran, we would be very happy to come back to your apartment.

We really enjoyed the stay in this apartment and look forward next opportunity to come again.
