Top off your Slovenian holiday with amazing experience!

For such a small country Slovenia packs in an amazing variety of holdiay experiences – a host of world-class outdoor pursuits in outstanding settings from Alps to Adriatic, a wide range of sites of historical, architectural and artistic interest and even UNESCO protected subterranean canyons and caves.

Despite the abundance of rewarding Slovenian holiday activities, its tourist industry – whilst well established – manages to remain low-key in all but a couple of places and it is still possible to get off the beaten track to find what can genuinely be described as adventure – be it authentic Slovenian cultural experiences or forays into wild and untouched parts of Slovenia’s great outdoors.

Think Slovenia have expertise on things to do in most areas of the country and relationships with a number of companies and individuals offering outstanding outdoor activities and experiences.

A quick guide to the main activities we can arrange are below. These give an outline only. Contact us for more infomration or a quote.

We are also happy to offer two outstanding and unusual experiences The Emerald River Adventure and The Eskimo Village at Krvavec.

The one minute guide to travel in Slovenia...

The Julian Alps, the beautiful Triglav national park and the stunning Soca alpine river valley are the main features of the north west – offering outstanding mountain scenery and an abundance of outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, ski-touring, white-water rafting, canyoning, paragliding and world-class fly fishing. It is also home to the fairytale lakes Bled and Bohinj. The mountains stretch east along the Austrian border with some of the most beautiful scenery around Maribor – Slovenia’s attractive second city.

The Adriatic coast in the south west boasts several cheerful seaside resorts and the stunning Venetian town Piran. Inland from the coast is the charming Karst region and its picturesque stone villages, vineyards, UNESCO protected caves and the world’s largest underground canyon at Škocjan.

Not far away is the capital Ljubljana with its enchanting old town sitting beneath a hilltop castle and crammed with magnificent architecture. East of Ljubljana lies mile after mile of idyllic rural tranquility, dotted with spa towns, atmospheric castles, ancient vineyards and Slovenia’s most historic city, Ptuj.
