As one of Slovenia's most stunning and well known waterfalls, Peričnik is a remnant of the ice age when the largest glacial valley, the stunning Vrata Valley was shaped. Cascading at first 16m down to the first ridge and then a further 52m into a pool below, the sound of the falls can be heard from quite some distance. In winter the falls turn into numerous flows and icicles, a wonderful wall of blue and green; an interesting challenge for the would be ice-climbing adventurer.

In a recent article published by Forbes Magazine, Ljubljana has been voted the 5th most idyllic place to live in Europe, described as a “little Paris” with hints of Art Nouveau - a melting pot of culture at the crossroads of the German, Latin and Slavic worlds.
