We aim to provide a selection of some of the most charming, interesting, enjoyable and memorable Slovenian hotels and guest houses – all of which we have visited personally and been impressed with. There's no other policy on which hotels we do and don’t include, so expect to find an interesting mix of Slovenia’s grand old historic hotels, some modern boutique operations as well as a few wonderful traditional alpine guest houses.

Our hotels are located predominantly around the beautiful Julian Alps region in the North West of the country, the charming Adriatic coastal region and in and around the capital, Ljubljana. We have visited all of these Slovenian hotels in person and in many cases have stayed and eaten, so you can expect an excellent quality of information both on the website and during the booking process. We are booking agents for our hotels rather than tour operators so whilst we facilitate your booking, your actual contract and payment is made directly to the hotels themselves. Located in a beautiful and tastefully renovated medieval townhouse on one of the prettiest streets in the old town with fabulous rooms and garden, the Lesar is undoubtedly one of Ljubljana's most enjoyable hotels. Gostilna Pri Martinu Kranjska Gora Pri Martinu is a charming traditional family run alpine gostilna (inn) just a short walk from the centre of Kranjska Gora and the ski pistes. Focusing around a popular restaurant serving excellent hearty alpine food, the Pri Martinu (Chez Martin) also offers a few good value comfortable, well proportioned, ensuite rooms, which we highly recommend. Hotel Vitranc Podkoren, Kranjska Gora The Vitranc is a small alpine hotel located in the centre of lovely Podkoren village 2km from Kranjska Gora and 10 mins walk to ski pistes. The hotel is beautifully decorated and offers a high level of comfort and a quality restaurant in a peaceful alpine setting. Charming alpine hotel €€ Region: Kranjska Gora Hotel Larix Kranjska Gora In our view the Larix is the pick of the Hit Group hotels which dominate Kranjska Gora. Whilst it perhaps lacks the personality of some of our other hotels, it is a supremely convenient ski hotel, located just metres from the slopes and offering a high level of comfort and facilities including an excellent spa / pool complex and casino. Modern ski hotel €€€ Region: Kranjska Gora Hotel Kristal Ribcev Laz, Lake Bohinj The Kristal is a friendly mid sized family run alpine hotel in the village of Ribcev Laz just a few minutes walk from Lake Bohinj. Newly built in the local style, the Kristal successfully combines modern comforts and facilities with more traditional alpine charm in a lovely setting. Charming alpine hotel €€ Region: The Lakes Grand Hotel Toplice Lake Bled Dating from 1850 and 1930 in its current form, the Grand Hotel Toplice is one of Slovenia's best known hotels offering luxurious modernised period accommodation and facilities including a thermal spa and private lido in a grand old historic building in a fantastic lakeside position with stunning views of the castle and Lake Bled island. Historic luxury hotel €€€ Region: The Lakes Vila Prešeren Lake Bled A welcome addition to the Bled hotel scene and sister hotel to Vila Bled, Vila Prešeren is a 19th century Bled villa which has been fully renovated into an excellent boutique hotel offering 8 stylish rooms and suites in a fantastic, peaceful lakeside postion under the castle, just a few minutes walk from Bled town. Boutique lakeside hotel €€ Region: The Lakes Vila Bled Lake Bled Vila Bled is the former residence of the Yugoslavian President Tito, so there's no surpise to find that the lakeside location overlooking the island is second to none. Surrounded by parkland and with direct lake access it is now a small luxury hotel offering a superb quality of accommodation, well ness centre, private lido and a fantastic restaurant in an unforgettable setting. Historic luxury hotel €€€ Region: The Lakes Nebesa Livek, Soca Valley Nebesa in Slovenian means "heaven" and this wonderful hotel comes about as close as it possibly could do to justifying its name. Four self contained one bedroom chalets with award winning architecture sit in a wonderful position high in the hills above Kobarid each with breathtaking views of the Julian Alps and the Soca Valley with a communal pool, wellness centre and living areas. If you want to really get away from it all - and do so in comfort and style - then this is the place! Luxury mountain escape €€€ Region: Soca Valley Martinov Hram Bovec, Soca Valley Located in the centre of Bovec, the Martinov Hram is an excellent value and friendly, traditional, family run, alpine guest house with comfortable ensuite rooms and one of the best places in the area to try the excellent Italian influenced cuisine of the region. Traditional alpine guesthouse € Region: Soca Valley Hotel Hvala Kobarid, Soca Valley Situated in the main square of the pretty and historic town of Kobarid in the heart of the Soca Valley, the Hotel Hvala (meaning Hotel Thank You!) has had a comprehensive facelift in recent years and offers not only stylish comfortable accommodation but one of Slovenia's best restaurants - the outstanding Topli Val. Gourmet alpine hotel €€ Region: Soca Valley Pristava Lepena Lepena, Soca Valley In the jaw droppingly beautiful Lepena valley 15 minutes drive from Bovec is one of the most unpretentious and enjoyable hotels in Slovenia - Pristava Lepena. Stay in rustic alpine self contained chalets, soak up the pristine mountain scenery, swim in the pool, go horse riding or walking up to Krn lake, eat in the excellent restaurant, relax in the wellness centre....but do not attempt to leave without a smile on your face!. Mountain chalet escape €€€ Region: Soca Valley Malograjski Dvor Kamnik The beautifully renovated 22 room Malograjski Dvor is located in the old town of the picture perfect medieval town of Kamnik - the gateway to the lovely Kamnisko Savinjske Alps. The building dates back to the early 19th century and has been sensitively renovated to retain the charm of the building. A quality restaurant completes an excellent all round hotel. Historic old town hotel €€ Region: Kamnisko Savinjske Alps Hotel Plesnik Logarska Dolina Located at the head of the stunning Logarska Valley is the 29 room Plesnik Hotel offering quality, comfortable accommodation in an attractive alpine building with outstanding views in the midst of pristine and tranquil mountain scenery. THE COASTAL REGION

Spacapanova Hisa Komen, Karst The pretty village of Komen in the heart of the Karst region is home to the charming family run Spacapanova Hisa, a small hotel where they take their food and wine very seriously! Rooms are comfortably and beautifully furnished. A lovely quiet, friendly place to stop over for a couple of nights and explore the wonderful Karst region. Belica Estate Medana, Goriska Brda The Belica Estate and winery is a must for anyone who wants to experience first hand the quality of Slovenian wines direct from the people making them! The food, the rooms and the location at the heart of beautiful Goriska Brda wine growing region provide the ideal complement. An outstanding experience all round. Luxurious gourmet wine estate €€ Region: Karst & Goriska Brda Hotel Tartini Piran, Coast The Hotel Tartini is a Piran institution. The location is fabulous - a few metres from the sea on the Piran's main square: Tartinijev Trg, which, like the hotel, is named after the composer Giuseppe Tartini. On top of the hotel is a fantastic roof terrace looking over the square. The interior and rooms would benefit from a refurb before long to make the most of the location but still offer reasonable mid range accommodation in a fabulous position. Seaside hotel €€ Region: The Coast Vile Stunjan Strunjan, Coast Ok, so Vile Strunjan doesn't sound so great in English, but in Slovenian it's a bit better! Vile means "villas" and Strunjan is the name of a charming little seaside village between beautiful Piran and Izola. The semi detached villas are part of the large Krka hotel complex and they enjoy the excellent facilities that this provides (pool, tennis courts, highly rated thermal spa complex) but are set apart from the main hotel area in peaceful and attractive parkland just a few minutes walk to the sea.
