INTRODUCTION
Ok, so Vile Strunjan doesn't sound so great in English, but in Slovenian it's a bit better! Vile means "villas" and Strunjan is the name of a charming little seaside village between beautiful Piran and Izola. The semi detached villas are part of the large Krka hotel complex and they enjoy the excellent facilities that this provides (pool, tennis courts, highly rated thermal spa complex) but are set apart from the main hotel area in peaceful and attractive parkland just a few minutes walk to the sea.

LOCATION

Strunjan is a small and attractive seaside village between the lovely towns of Piran and Izola in a protected regional park in the heart of the Slovenian Adriatic. This means that development has been quite limited in the area and it retains a lot of green spaces, vineyards and olive groves and is not overrun with roads and buildings. A few hundred metres from the local beach area is the Krka hotel complex. In an attractive pine grove set apart from the hotel are the Strunjan Villas. It is an easy walk up to all the hotel pools and facilities, to the local blue flag beach area (which largely comprises man-made swimming platforms as well as various cafes, bars and restaurants) and which has lovely views across the bay to Piran cathedral or from there around to the long pebbly beach underneath the Strunjan cliffs which offers lovely views across the whole Gulf of Trieste. There is also lots of lovely walking in the area - notably through olive groves up onto the top of the Strunjan cliffs. There are various other restaurants and amenities in walking distance and it is 10 minutes by car to the lovely towns of Piran and Izola. There are local buses which pass Strunjan to other towns on the coast and onwards to Ljubljana. There are also buses which go to Trieste in Italy from Piran, however not every day - so please contact us if you are planning to travel by bus from Trieste airport. The nearest train station is Koper (20km) with connections from Koper to Ljubljana and also to Sezana where you can change for trains into Italy. |

THE ACCOMMODATION
The Strunjan Villas offer a good mid range standard of comfort and accommodation. It is simple, comfortable rather than luxury accommodation, but the setting in a pine grove is lovely and with the hotel faciltiies on hand (tennis, basketball, various seawater swimming pools, sauna and spa), two beaches and various restaurants in walking distance it makes a fantastic choice for Slovenian coast accommodation.

There's a total of 50 double rooms. These are divided into 5 villas Oljka (olive), Cipresa (cypress), Mirta (myrtle), Pinja (pine)and Sivka (lavender) each with 5 semi detached / terraced houses. Each house has a double room on the ground floor and one on the first floor.
Some rooms are interconnected internally for family use.
Although they are called villas these are more like hotel rooms and do not offer self catering facilities. |
