Spacapanova Hisa is located in the heart of the Karst wine-growing region in the village of Komen. The village of Komen itself is small but attractive with a beautiful church, good views of the pretty surrounding countryside and vineyards and a few useful facilities such as restaurants, bars, convenience store and petrol station. It is a good location for exploring the Karst region and its many attractions including wine routes starting in the village and the historic hilltop village of Stanjel a short drive away. The famous Lipica stud and world class caves at Postojna and Skocjanske Jame are a little further but easy reachable as day trips from Spacapanova Hisa.
