Hotel Piran is in an amazing location on the iconic Piran shoreline; guests can almost step from the hotel into the beautiful waters of the Adriatic. Inland lies picturesque wine growing country (mainly growing a delicious red grape variety unique to Slovenia - Refosk), some wonderful old stone hill top villages often with great local restaurants and wineries & a little further afield attractions such as the Sečovlje salt plans, the world famous caves at Postojna & Skocjanske Jame (20 / 40 mins drive respectively), golf & the historic Lippizaner stud at Lipica (cca 30 mins drive). Slovenia's charming capital Ljubljana is just 90 minutes drive and day trips into Trieste & Venice in Italy or Croatia's beautiful Istrian coast are easily possible and highly recommended.

Other useful local transport connections

There are local buses to other towns on the coast and onwards to Ljubljana. There are also buses which go to Trieste in Italy, however not every day - so please contact us if you are planning to travel by bus to Piran from Trieste airport. The nearest train station is Koper (20km) with connections from Koper to Ljubljana.

Occupying perhaps the best location in town – it sits at the heart of historic Piran, next to the fishing port and literally metres from the gorgeous Adriatic sea, whilst Tartini Square is just a few minutes’ walk away. Hotel Piran has just undergone a complete refurbishment which has seen the addition of an excellent restaurant, a wellness centre and a stunning roof terrace. The hotel has 74 bright modern rooms either overlooking the Adriatic or facing the medieval city while many rooms come with balconies. There are also 15 luxurious seaside suites with balconies. Hotel Piran is the ideal place for a romantic getaway.

There is no parking in central Piran. the centre is largely pedestiranised and only local residents have any vehicle access to the centre. There is a municipal parking house near the entrance to Piran, the hotel offers transfer from the garage to the hotel. Guests receive a 50% discount on parking rates when fee is paid at hotel reception.
