Dandelion House is a very special 4 bedroom, newly converted alpine farmhouse with garden, sleeping 10, in a stunning position with open views across the Bohinj Valley in the charming village of Podjelje at the foot of the Pokljuka Plateau and within the Triglav National Park. It is 20 minutes drive from Lake Bohinj one of Slovenia's most stunning natural treasures and in close proximity to quality skiing at Vogel and a huge range of river, lake & mountain activities in Summer. In the other direction lies world famous Lake Bled (25 mins) and the Pokljuka Plateau (10 mins) home to Slovenia's best cross country skiing and some of its most spectacular walking and biking trails. The village of Podjelje itself is quiet, beautiful and spread out, surrounded by pure nature and with wonderful views over the Lower Bohinj Mountains. Dandelion House has been recently renovated with lots of sensitivity to the original building to create an extremely comfortable, charming and well equipped holiday home with fireplace, table tennis, flat screen TV and internet among the many features as well as outdoor seating area and garden. A fantastic base for relaxing in beautiful alpine surroundings or for exploring Slovenia’s enchanting Lakes Region.

Located in the village of Podjelje at the foot of the Pokljuka plateau at circa 1000m above sea level, Dandelion House is well situated to take advantage of the attractions of Bohinj Valley with Lake Bohinj in one direction (20 minutes drive to the Lake) the Pokljuka Plateau in the other (10 minutes drive). Located in a beautiful peaceful position with stunning open mountain views and a few other houses and farms dotted around in the vicinity, it is a wonderful peaceful location for relaxing in wonderful alpine surroundings or equally for more active pursuits of which there are a huge amount, including wonderful walking and biking from the doorstep of the property and exploring the Triglav National Park, which the house is located inside. Lake Bohinj itself is a serene lake surrounded by towering peaks and pristine forests considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Slovenia. In summer the Lake offers the opportunity for kayaking, sailing and rowing, as well as fly-fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the lake shore. The mountains of Lake Bohinj are fantastic for walking and arguably the best place to start climbs up Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. They also offer scope for great mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding as well as skiing.
The ski resort Vogel above Lake Bohinj is one of Slovenia’s best with good lift infrastructure and snow record. It is 25 minutes drive from the house to the Vogel cable car, which is also open in the summer giving easy access to high altitude walking and mountain biking. There is a wide range of other ski areas in Slovenia / Italy / Austria within day trip distance from the property. Please click here for a map / guide to these resorts. The nearest town is Bohinjska Bistrica (circa 20 minutes drive) which also offers a modern water park with ample pool and spa facilities as well as a range of useful amenities including shops, bars, restaurants & bank. There are other restaurants and a small shop in Srednja Vas 10 minutes drive away. 25 minutes drive away from the house is world famous Lake Bled.

In Summer months there is a tourist bus service running between Bled and Bohinj via Pokljuka that goes relatively close to the house. There are regular bus services through the year serving Koprivnik which is a village a few kilometres from the house.

20 minute drive to the nearest railway station in Bohinjska Bistrica with connections around Slovenia including the wonderful car train to Most Na Soci a wonderful way to get to the Soca Valley for a day trip.


Dandelion House Bohinj offers very comfortable and high quality accommodation for groups of up to 10 with 4 bedrooms and 2 sleek bathrooms. Converted in 2016, the house retains the charm of the original building combined with modern comfort and attractive furnishings, features and fittings. On the ground floor is an entry area with staircase and doors through to the downstairs fantastic bathroom with freestanding bath and shower enclosure and separate toilet, kitchen and living room. The kitchen, which is semi open plan with the living and dining room offers ample space for cooking and is fully equipped with high quality appliances including dishwasher and door through to pantry / utility room / back door. The centre-piece of the living room is a lovely hand built ceramic wood burner between the comfortable seating area and dining corner with hand build bench seating. Upstairs is a nice landing with seating area and four bedrooms with exposed beams - 1 twin, 3 doubles with one further twin on the loft level accessed by staircase, second bathroom with walk-in rain shower and a separate toilet. Outside, the house offers a terrace area with outdoor seating and table tennis table. Below this there is a small field which can be used but it is relatively steep. In terms of facilities there is a flatscreen TV with multichannel TV and wifi available across the property. There is also a washing machine and dryer available for guest usage.
